CONNECT 242

CONNECT 242 is a threaded adapter made to connect AIRDUC hoses to standard pipe and process installations via DIN ISO 228 thread. The construction is highly abrasion-resistant and chemically resistant, supplied black, and covers thread sizes from 2 to 6 inches. 7 dimensions with hose ID from 50 mm to 150 mm match the thread range and cover the most used process connections. Typically used where pneumatic conveying lines must connect to process tanks, valves or pumps with standard inch threads.

Frequently asked questions

What is DIN ISO 228?

DIN ISO 228 is the European standard for parallel pipe threads (purpose: pipe connection without sealing in the thread itself - sealing happens via O-ring or flat gasket on the protruding face). The standard specifies thread sizes in inch measure (G1/8 to G6) and is the most used standard for industrial pipe connection in the EU. CONNECT 242 is supplied in G2 to G6 - the larger sizes matching the AIRDUC catalogue's main dimensions.

Which hoses?

CONNECT 242 is qualified for the AIRDUC PUR series (350, 351, 355) and AIRDUC PVC (341, 345). The 7 dimensions with hose ID 50-150 mm cover the AIRDUC catalogue's process-relevant sizes. For smaller dimensions, we recommend specific other coupling types.

Should I use sealing?

Yes, parallel threads require sealing on the protruding face (not in the thread itself). Typically: O-ring, flat gasket or PTFE tape. For high-temperature or aggressive media, choose material per application - we advise if you send us medium and temperature.

What if I have tapered thread (NPT)?

CONNECT 242 is parallel thread DIN ISO 228 - it does NOT match NPT tapered thread. For NPT installations, contact us; The manufacturer has separate tapered-thread adapters but they are not in the CONNECT 242 series.
