GEKA hose tail med securing ring

GEKA is a German-based coupling system developed in 1934 and widely used in construction sites, fire brigade applications, water treatment and industrial process. Our GEKA hose tail with securing ring is a combination of hose tail and securing ring that together ensure a leak-free joint withstanding both suction (vacuum) and high pressure (up to 25 bar). The material is brass with NBR seal - a combination resistant to water, many organic liquids and normal steam below 90 deg C. The GEKA system has lug construction (claw construction) locking via quarter turn - same principle as Storz but with different geometry.

Frequently asked questions

What is GEKA?

GEKA is a German coupling system developed in 1934 and widely used internationally, particularly in construction sites, fire brigades and water treatment. The construction is a lug-based coupling with quarter-turn locking - same principle as Storz but with different geometry and lug distance. GEKA is particularly widespread in Central Europe and Scandinavia.

Difference from Storz?

Both are lug couplings with quarter-turn locking. GEKA is typically in smaller dimensions (under 50 mm hose ID) and is heavily used for water/air installations. Storz covers larger dimensions and is the primary choice in fire brigade applications. The two systems are NOT interchangeable - lug distances differ.

How big is the GEKA catalogue?

The manufacturer has a broad GEKA catalogue (typically 8-10 SKUs for different hose tail configurations + accessories). Our product page is for hose tail with securing ring SKU 5316. For other GEKA variants (thread adapter, blank cap, coupling muffe), contact us.
