GEKA plus is the potable-water-approved version of the GEKA system, certified per DVGW VP 550 - the German standard for potable water fittings. Our blank cap is developed to temporarily close an open GEKA tap without risk of migration or hygiene concern. The material is brass per DIN 50930/6 (potable-water-approved brass alloy with low lead content) in red-brown finish. The seal is NBR. Working pressure up to 40 bar - substantially above standard GEKA. Used in potable water installations, water distribution and construction sites where the quality of drinking water must be assured.

Frequently asked questions
What is DVGW VP 550?
DVGW VP 550 is the German standard for potable water fittings. It specifies migration limits, material composition and hygiene requirements for components in contact with drinking water. Certification requires testing for heavy metal migration, taste transfer and bacteriological safety. This is the primary potable water approval in Germany and widely accepted in EU.
Difference from standard GEKA?
Standard GEKA brass may have higher lead content than potable-water-approved. GEKA plus uses DIN 50930/6 low-lead brass alloy specifically developed for potable water applications. Plus also has higher working pressure (40 bar vs. standard GEKA's 25 bar).
Used in construction sites?
Yes, GEKA plus blank cap is frequently used on construction sites where temporary potable water installations must be closed between use phases. Compared to a simple plug, it ensures potable water quality and is tested to 40 bar.
