Klau-kobling med male thread
The claw coupling is a European standard coupling solution for compressor applications conforming to DIN EN ISO 228-1 (thread) and DIN 3489 (coupling). The construction is a lug-based coupling with 2 manually movable claws interlocking via quarter turn. With male thread BSPP/G, connection to standard pipe systems is offered. The material is malleable cast iron - a standard material withstanding normal compressed air exposure with good mechanical durability. The seal is NBR. Widely used in industrial compressed air systems, compressor installations and pneumatic tools.

Frequently asked questions
What is DIN 3489?
DIN 3489 is the German standard for claw couplings for compressed air and compressor installations. The standard specifies coupling geometry, lug distances (typically 42 mm), claw configuration and seal face sizes so coupling parts from different suppliers are interchangeable. It's widely used in Europe.
Which thread sizes?
4 sizes in BSPP/G male: 3/8, 1/2, 3/4 and 1 inch. Lug distance is constant 42 mm on all, so they are interchangeable between each other. For other thread sizes or female configuration, contact us.
Which seal?
NBR seal - resistant to mineral oils (typical in compressor air), normal steam and water. For strongly aggressive media, other seals can be requested.
