CP HiTex 480 PROTECT

CP HiTex 480 PROTECT is a clamp profile hose for gas with an additional external protective profile running as a spiral on the outside of the hose. The manufacturer states a normal temperature range from −60 to +200°C. The hose is highly flexible and compresses in a 3:1 ratio. It is supplied in four sizes from inner Ø 80 to 200 mm with a black protective profile; Ø 150 and 200 mm are also available with a yellow protective profile (RAL 1003).

Why this hose?

CP HiTex 480 PROTECT has an external protective profile on the outside of the clamp profile hose, for installations where the hose is exposed to impacts or abrasion from outside. The manufacturer states a normal temperature range from −60 to +200°C.

The hose is highly flexible and compresses in a 3:1 ratio. The protective profile is black as standard; in Ø 150 and 200 mm it is also available in yellow (RAL 1003), which is easier to see.

Where it is used

The hose is used for extraction of hot gases where it needs extra external protection against impacts and abrasion.

The formal name is CP HiTex 480 PROTECT. In daily use: "the 480 with protective profile".

Note: Fields without a value (—) are not specified in the manufacturer's factsheet. Overpressure and underpressure are recommended operating limits; the product can be subjected to higher loads on request. Bend radius is measured along the inside of the hose. Standards and compliance

The hose is certified or documented to the following standards:

  • REACH (EC 1907/2006) and RoHS 2011/65/EU. The manufacturer holds declarations of compliance, available under Documentation.

The manufacturer states no electrical resistance for the hose, so it must not be used for combustible dust.

Industries that use it

The hose is used where hot gases are extracted:

In extraction and filtration systems it is used for hot gases where the hose is exposed.

Custom lengths and assemblies

The hose can be cut to length and assembled with couplings, cuffs and threaded fittings through Particulair's custom hose assemblies.

We offer guidance on material choice, coupling system and grounding, so the hose fits correctly into the overall system. If there is any doubt about zone classification or resistance requirements, a short conversation before ordering is well worth the time.

Frequently asked questions

What does the protective profile do?

It is an additional profile running as a spiral on the outside of the hose. It shields the hose wall against impacts and abrasion from outside, and the yellow version also makes the hose easier to see.

How do I order the hose, and where do you deliver?

The hose is ordered through Particulair (Karlslunde, Denmark). We deliver to Denmark, the EU and selected third countries such as Norway and Switzerland. Standard dimensions can typically be delivered in 1-2 weeks; custom assemblies and larger volumes require slightly longer lead time.

How is the hose best stored before use?

Store the hose dry, at room temperature (15-25°C) and out of direct sunlight. Avoid contact with ozone-generating equipment (welding equipment, engines). If stored on a reel, the bend must be larger than the specified minimum radius to avoid permanent deformation. Proper storage significantly extends shelf life.

What is the minimum bend radius, and what happens if I go below it?

Minimum bend radius is the smallest radius the hose can be bent to without permanent deformation or internal damage. The table above shows specific values for each dimension. Bending the hose below this limit can collapse the wall, kink the spiral or damage the inner coating. The result is reduced flow, increased pressure loss and shorter service life. Always use bend radius as a design constraint in installation.
