Applications

  • Extraction of very fine dust and powder from deep crevices and cavities in production equipment
  • Cleaning of hard-to-access deep areas in machinery, under conveyors and in narrow channels
  • Collection of particle residues in pharma environments with high hygiene requirements
  • Flour and confectionery industries, dairy, cosmetics and chemical manufacturing
Compliance information: The silicone compound Wacker Chemie R 4001 80 complies with FDA 21 CFR 177.2600 (USA) and BfR Recommendation XV “Silicone” (Germany) for the polymers and ingredients in the material. It is the manufacturer’s responsibility to ensure that the moulding and finishing process meets these standards, and the end user’s responsibility to verify material compatibility with the specific intended application.

Colour coding and hygiene

The Colour Line concept enables systematic colour coding of vacuum accessories in food and pharma environments, where visual segregation forms part of internal hygiene procedures and GMP requirements. Colour coding reduces the risk of cross-contamination by assigning specific colours to separate process zones, allergen statuses or product types:

  • Blue — allergen-free zones or dry products
  • Red — meat processing or controlled process zones
  • Green / yellow / white — additional colours adapted to internal colour coding systems
Please note: The standard Colour Line is manufactured in oil-resistant NBR rubber without FDA compliance. FDA-compatible versions carry the suffix F and must be specified at the time of ordering. It is the end user’s responsibility to verify the material’s suitability for the specific application.

Frequently asked questions

The silicone version (White Line) is compliant with FDA 21 CFR 177.2600 and BfR Recommendation XV in its standard form, withstands −60°C to +200°C and can be autoclaved. Colour Line is manufactured in oil-resistant NBR rubber and is available in an FDA-compatible (F) version on request, with an operating range of −20°C to +120°C. Colour Line is primarily intended for colour-coded hygiene management systems.
The 430 mm flat profile reaches deep into crevices, slots and machine cavities that shorter nozzles cannot access. This makes ABYSS ideal for deep extraction in production machinery, under conveyors and in narrow channels where food or pharma residues can accumulate.
Yes. The silicone material Wacker Chemie R 4001 80 has an operating temperature range of −60°C to +200°C, making autoclaving possible as part of a hygiene routine. It is the user’s responsibility to verify that the rest of the tube system and accessories are also rated for the autoclaving temperature.
Both variants are available in Ø38, Ø40, Ø44 and Ø50 mm. The diameter must match the tube system on your vacuum unit. Please contact us if you are unsure of the correct size.
The part number is built as PLG + diameter + L + colour letter + F. Example: Ø38 mm in green FDA version = PLG38LVF. Contact us with the required diameter, colour and quantity.
Yes — ABYSS is also available in antistatic MM019NN NBR compound for use in ATEX Zone 21 and Zone 22, with documented volume resistivity of 1.1 Ω·m (CERISIE, ISO 1853:2011). See the ATEX product page for details.
