Application areas

  • Collection of food waste, crumbs, powder and granulate in corners and under production equipment
  • Extraction of chemical dust and particle residues in pharmaceutical environments from hard-to-reach areas
  • Cleaning of production lines in cleanroom-adjacent zones where bent tools are required
  • Flour and confectionery industry, dairy sector, cosmetics and chemical industry
Compliance information: The silicone compound Wacker Chemie R 4001 80 complies with FDA 21 CFR 177.2600 (USA) and BfR Recommendation XV "Silicone" (Germany) for the polymers and ingredients in the material. It is the manufacturer's responsibility to ensure that the moulding and finishing process meets these standards, and the end user's responsibility to verify the material's compatibility with the specific intended use.

Colour coding and hygiene

Colour Line enables systematic colour coding of vacuum equipment, where visual separation forms part of internal hygiene procedures and GMP requirements. The curved shape and colour coding together ensure both correct tool separation and access to hard-to-reach areas in food environments:

  • Blue — allergen-free zones or dry products
  • Red — meat processing or controlled process zones
  • Green / yellow / white — other colours adapted to internal colour-coding systems
Note: Standard Colour Line is manufactured in oil-resistant NBR rubber without FDA compliance. FDA-compliant versions are designated (F) and must be specified at time of order. It is the end user's responsibility to verify the material's suitability for the specific application.

Frequently asked questions

The silicone version is compliant with FDA 21 CFR 177.2600 and BfR Recommendation XV in its standard form, withstands −60°C to +200°C and can be autoclaved. Colour Line is manufactured in oil-resistant NBR rubber and is available in an FDA-compliant (F) version on request, with an operating range of −20°C to +120°C. Colour Line is primarily suited to colour-coded hygiene systems.
Yes. The silicone material Wacker Chemie R 4001 80 has an operating temperature range from −60°C to +200°C, making autoclaving possible as part of the hygiene routine. It is the user's responsibility to verify that the remaining pipe system and accessories can also withstand the autoclaving temperature.
FDA 21 CFR 177.2600 is the US Food and Drug Administration's regulation for rubber materials approved for repeated contact with food. BfR Recommendation XV is the equivalent German requirement for silicone materials in food contact. For the silicone version, compliance is documented for Wacker Chemie R 4001 80. The end user is responsible for verifying suitability for the specific purpose.
Food production involves many machines, conveyors and installations with limited access underneath and behind. A curved nozzle with a 90° bend reaches these areas without the operator needing to adopt awkward postures, and it reduces the risk of residue and dust being left in hard-to-reach corners.
Both variants are available in Ø32, Ø38, Ø40, Ø44 and Ø50 mm. The diameter must match the pipe system of your vacuum unit. Please contact us if you are unsure of the correct dimension.
Yes — ALIEN is also available in antistatic MM019NN NBR compound for use in ATEX Zone 21 and Zone 22, with documented volume resistivity of 1.1 Ω·m (CERISIE, ISO 1853:2011). See the ATEX product page for details.
