The Delfin MTL 451 INERT 1/2D is an ATEX-certified industrial vacuum cleaner designed for the safe collection of explosive and reactive dusts in areas classified as Zone 21. The system combines an active inert liquid bath with H14 filtration, ensuring that dust particles are instantly neutralized and cooled. Technical construction
The MTL 451 INERT 1/2D features an integrated oil bath that neutralizes dust immediately upon contact. The inert liquid eliminates oxygen, heat, and static charge, preventing ignition of reactive metals or unburned propellant. The filter unit includes an antistatic M-class star filter with manual cleaning and a final HEPA H14 filter tested to 99.995% efficiency (EN 1822-5). A built-in clogging gauge ensures safe operation and extended filter life.

Technical note
In Zone 21 areas, explosive dust atmospheres can occur during normal operation. Dry collection of gunpowder or metallic dust is not sufficient to prevent ignition hazards. The MTL 451 INERT 1/2D uses an active oil-based inert bath to isolate and cool particles, reducing the oxygen level below 10%. This eliminates the risk of ignition and downgrades the internal atmosphere from Zone 20 to inert conditions. Why use an inert liquid bath in Zone 21?
Because dry collection of reactive metal or gunpowder dust can generate heat, friction, or static discharge. The oil bath neutralizes and isolates the dust immediately.
Why oil and not water?
Water reacts with magnesium or aluminum and can release hydrogen gas. Oil is chemically stable and non-reactive.
