NORRES CONNECT KARDAN 254
Galvanized steel kardan coupling – robust connection for construction and dewatering systems
The NORRES CONNECT KARDAN 254 is a heavy-duty kardan coupling made of galvanized steel and equipped with an NBR sealing ring. It is designed for conveying liquids and dry media in construction, dewatering, and water-handling systems, where quick and tight assembly of large-diameter hoses is required.
Properties and design
- Manufactured from galvanized steel – high mechanical strength and corrosion protection.
- Supplied with black NBR sealing ring.
- For conveying dry and liquid media.
- Not suitable for explosive fluids (group 1) and not covered by the Pressure Equipment Directive.
- REACH compliant – see manufacturer’s technical information.
Applications
Commonly used in construction and civil engineering for groundwater lowering, dewatering, pumping systems, and process or surface water transport. Suitable for hoses with a smooth outer wall and compatible with CONNECT series couplings and CLAMP assemblies.
Technical note
Kardan couplings are used where large-diameter hoses must be connected or disconnected quickly under demanding operating conditions. The galvanized steel body provides durability and a reliable seal via the integrated NBR ring. In ATEX areas, potential equalisation must be verified separately, as the coupling itself is not electrically conductive.
Recommended accessories
- CLAMP 211 – band clamp for hoses with smooth outer wall.
- CONNECT 229 – connection fittings for AIRDUC® and PROTAPE® series.

FAQ: NORRES CONNECT KARDAN 254
What is the CONNECT KARDAN 254 used for?
For quick coupling of large hoses in construction and dewatering systems for water, sludge, and dry media.
What is the coupling made of?
Galvanized steel with black NBR sealing ring.
Are different versions available?
Yes – the series includes both female and male parts in several diameters from Ø 50 to Ø 150 mm.
Can it be used in ATEX zones?
Only after a separate risk assessment and when potential equalisation is ensured.
How is it attached to the hose?
By means of a clamp (e.g. CLAMP 211) around the hose tail – providing a tight and secure connection.
