ALIEN ATEX/ESD
Antistatic nozzle for precise collection of combustible dust in ATEX-controlled areas
ALIEN ATEX/ESD is a slim and curved antistatic nozzle designed for safe and controlled collection of combustible dust and fine powders in ATEX-regulated environments. Its conical geometry and gently curved tip make it ideal for cleaning narrow gaps, edges and areas around process equipment where dust accumulation can pose an explosion risk.
The antistatic NBR material (MM019NN) allows the nozzle to function as a component within a correctly bonded and grounded ATEX system, where hose, pipework, equipment and grounding work together to reduce the risk of electrostatic discharge.
Typical applications and industries
- Collection of combustible dust, fine powders and residue in narrow gaps, joints and along edges.
- Cleaning around filling lines, mixers, silos and processing equipment in ATEX-classified zones.
- Maintenance cleaning in areas with risk of dust explosions.
- Commonly used in pharmaceutical, chemical, metal, plastics, additive manufacturing (3D printing) and food industry (non-contact areas).
FAQ
Can this nozzle be used in all ATEX zones?
The nozzle is antistatic and can be used in ATEX/ESD-controlled environments as part of a correctly bonded system. Zone suitability always depends on the complete installation.
What tasks is the nozzle suitable for?
It is suitable for collecting dry, combustible dust and fine powders on machinery, floors, edges and processing equipment.
Do I need to use an antistatic hose?
Yes. To ensure proper ATEX safety, the nozzle must be used with an antistatic or conductive hose and correct grounding.
Is the nozzle food-approved?
No. The black ATEX/ESD nozzle is not food-contact approved.
Who is responsible for ATEX safety?
The customer is always responsible for ensuring that the complete installation is ATEX-safe. The nozzle is an antistatic component, but the system must be verified as a whole.
Minimum order quantity is 10 pcs per variant.
The black NBR material (MM019NN) has an electrical resistance of 5–50 kΩ (bulk resistivity). Aspirogom declares the component as antistatic. It can be used in ATEX and ESD-controlled environments as part of a correctly bonded and grounded system. According to ATEX/ESD standards, use in explosive atmospheres requires that the customer verifies the safety of the entire installation, including proper bonding/grounding of hoses, nozzles, pipes, the machine and operational procedures. Responsibility follows the applicable standards, including TRGS 727, EN 1127-1, NFPA 77 and EN 80079-36.
