SHARK ATEX/ESD
Antistatic crevice nozzle for precise cleaning in ATEX-controlled areas
The SHARK ATEX/ESD is a slim, flat antistatic crevice nozzle made from black NBR (MM019NN), designed for cleaning narrow gaps, edges and confined spaces in ATEX and ESD-controlled environments. Its flat geometry allows precise collection of combustible dust and fine powders where standard nozzles cannot reach.
The antistatic rubber compound reduces the risk of electrostatic discharge and ensures that the nozzle can form part of a correctly bonded and grounded ATEX setup together with hoses, pipes and equipment.
Typical applications and industries
- Collection of combustible dust, fine powders and residues in narrow gaps, crevices and along edges.
- Cleaning around filling lines, mixers, silos and process equipment in ATEX-classified environments.
- Maintenance cleaning in areas with potential dust explosion risks.
- Commonly used in pharmaceutical, chemical, metal, plastics, 3D-printing and food industries (without product contact).
FAQ
Can the nozzle be used in all ATEX zones?
The nozzle is antistatic and can be used in ATEX/ESD-controlled environments as part of a correctly bonded system. The overall installation determines zone suitability.
What tasks is the nozzle suitable for?
Collecting dry, combustible dust and fine powders from machinery, floors and process equipment.
Does it need to be used with an antistatic hose?
Yes. For proper ATEX safety, the nozzle must be used with an antistatic or conductive hose and correct grounding.
Is the nozzle food-approved?
No. For applications involving food contact, choose a FOOD/FDA variant.
Who is responsible for ATEX safety?
The customer. Aspirogom declares the component antistatic; the customer must verify overall system safety.
Minimum order quantity is 10 pcs per variant.
Material and ATEX responsibility (MM019NN)
The black NBR material (MM019NN) has an electrical resistance of 5–50 kΩ (bulk resistivity). Aspirogom declares the component antistatic. It can be used in ATEX and ESD-controlled environments as part of a correctly bonded system. According to applicable ATEX/ESD standards, use in explosive atmospheres requires the customer to verify the overall system safety, including proper bonding/grounding of hoses, nozzles, pipes, machinery and operational practices. Responsibility follows the wording of standards such as TRGS 727, EN 1127-1, NFPA 77 and EN 80079-36.
