Tiger-Vac EXP1-20 DT (PRS-HEC) RE HEPA 2GD
ATEX-certified Powder Recovery System (PRS) for Additive Manufacturing & 3D Printing
The Tiger-Vac EXP1-20 DT (PRS-HEC) RE HEPA is a specialised Powder Recovery System designed for the safe and efficient extraction, separation and handling of powders from 3D printers and Additive Manufacturing processes. The system is ATEX- and IECEx-certified (II 2GD) for combustible and conductive metal and polymer powders and complies with both EN 17348 and NFPA 484 for AM powder handling.
- ATEX marking: II 2GD – Ex d IIA T3 Gb / Ex t IIIC T200°C Db IP6X.
- Integrated High Efficiency Cyclone (HEC) – separates up to 98% of the powder before it reaches the HEPA filter.
- ESD Safe: system resistivity < 10 ohms – engineered for safe recovery of conductive metal powders (Dust Group IIIC).
- HEPA filter included: 99.995% efficiency at 0.3 µm (H14/EN 1822).
- Stainless steel (AISI 304) recovery tank and cyclone for hygienic and robust operation.
- 25 L Detachable Tank (DT) for controlled disposal or reuse of recovered powder.
Designed for 3D printing and metal powder handling
The EXP1-20 DT (PRS-HEC) RE HEPA is purpose-built for Additive Manufacturing and is ideal for process-side powder recovery in:
- Powder Bed Fusion (PBF)
- Selective Laser Sintering (SLS)
- Metal AM processes (Titanium, Aluminium, Inconel, etc.)
- Polymer-based 3D printing
The integrated cyclone provides efficient separation of fine and reusable powders, allowing material to be either safely disposed of or reintroduced into the process depending on application requirements. The system is certified for metal powders according to NFPA 484 (AM and powder collection).
Safety, certifications and standards
- ATEX 3rd-party certified by LCIE (0081).
- IECEx certified for conductive metal powders (Dust Group IIIC).
- Complies with NFPA 484 for Additive Manufacturing (Ch. 13.4.1) and Powder Collection (Ch. 11.2.4.4.1).
- TEFC motor (Totally Enclosed Fan Cooled) for continuous duty applications.
- IP6X enclosure – full protection against fine powder ingress.
- Temperature range: -5 °C to +37 °C.
Optimised workflow and operator safety
The system is engineered for safe, ergonomic and efficient day-to-day operation. The detachable recovery tank enables clean and controlled handling of AM powders, while the stainless-steel cyclone improves separation performance and protects the HEPA filter. The included ESD-safe accessories in Ø32/38 mm make the system fully compliant for explosive, conductive and pyrotechnic dusts.

FAQ
Can the system be used for both metal and polymer powders?
Yes. The PRS-HEC system is designed for both conductive metal powders and non-conductive polymer powders and is certified according to NFPA 484 and ATEX II 2GD.
How much powder does the cyclone separate?
The integrated cyclone separates up to 98% of powder before it reaches the HEPA filter, reducing operating costs and extending filter life.
Can the recovered powder be reused?
Yes. The detachable tank allows controlled powder recovery for reuse, depending on quality standards and process requirements.
Is the system suitable for titanium and aluminium?
Yes. It is ESD Safe (< 10 ohms) and certified for Dust Group IIIC, suitable for aluminium, titanium, Inconel and other conductive metal powders.
Are EX/ESD accessories included?
Yes. The system is supplied with an ESD/EX-safe accessory kit in Ø32/38 mm, which is mandatory when recovering conductive or pyrotechnic dusts.
