ATEX 2GD industrial vacuum cleaner for safe recovery of combustible gases and dust in Zone 1/21

The Tiger-Vac CD-4 EX (MRP) CAT. 2GD Z1/21 is an explosion-proof industrial vacuum cleaner designed for the safe recovery of combustible gases and combustible/conductive dust in ATEX Zone 1 and Zone 21. The internal structure is certified for Zone 0/20, making the unit suitable for processes where an explosive atmosphere may be continuously present. The system is fully ESD safe with a total resistance below 10 Ω and certified for Dust Group IIIA, IIIB and IIIC.

Technical construction

The CD-4 EX (MRP) 2GD is built as a modular stainless steel system with filter housing, recovery tank and EX motor mounted on a durable steel frame. The MRP system cleans the filter cartridge using a strong reverse airflow activated manually. The static-dissipative aluminized spun-bond filter media provides low pressure drop, high durability and stable performance with fine or conductive dust. A Safety Filter with protective cage safeguards the motor in case of filter breakthrough.

• Gas: Ex db h IIB T4 Gb – approved for Zone 1 and internal Zone 0
• Dust: Ex h IIIC T135°C Db – certified for conductive metal powder and combustible dust
• The entire system is ESD safe (< 10 Ω) and all conductive parts are bonded/grounded
• EX motor and electrical box are IP65 for operation in demanding industrial environments
• Optional downstream HEPA H14 filtration (99.995% @ 0.3 µm), EN 1822 tested

Technical note

The MRP system is recommended for fine dust, metal powders, long operating shifts or environments with high filter loading. Reverse Purge provides more efficient filter cleaning than mechanical shaking systems (MFS), ensuring lower pressure drop and more stable performance. In ATEX applications, the complete installation must always be assessed, including conductive hoses, ESD-safe tools, grounding and correct operating procedures.

What does the 2GD classification mean?
2GD means the vacuum is certified for both gas and dust atmospheres and may be used in Zone 1/21 and internally Zone 0/20.

Is it suitable for metal powders?
Yes, CD-4 EX (MRP) is certified for Dust Group IIIC, including aluminium, magnesium and other conductive powders.

When should I choose MRP instead of MFS?

Is HEPA required?
