Delfin MTL 451 BL 1/2D

ATEX Zone 21 vacuum cleaner – internal Zone 20 (Da) and external Zone 21 (Db)

The Delfin MTL 451 BL 1/2D is a compact and mobile industrial vacuum cleaner designed for the safe collection of combustible dust inside and around ATEX Zone 21 areas. The unit features a 45 L AISI 304 stainless-steel container, antistatic M-class filter and HEPA H14 final filter to prevent dust leakage. It is supplied with the TA.0229.0000 antistatic accessory kit (Ø 40 mm) for dry collection.

  • ATEX marking: II 1/2D Ex h IIIC T80°C (Int) / T95°C (Ext) Da/Db.
  • Application: combustible dust and dry solids in ATEX Zone 21 areas.
  • Filter system: antistatic polyester M (star filter) + HEPA H14 (EN 1822, MPPS method).
  • Capacity and ergonomics: 45 L stainless-steel container, tangential inlet and heavy-duty trolley.

Technical design

The tangential inlet with built-in cyclone reduces filter load and maintains stable airflow of 215 m³/h. The primary antistatic M-filter (20,600 cm²) is cleaned manually. The HEPA H14 final filter (99.995 % MPPS) guarantees safe retention of fine and toxic dust. The entire air path is metallic and fully conductive to ensure proper grounding and ESD safety.

Safety and certification

  • ATEX category 1/2D – Zone 20 internal (Da) / Zone 21 external (Db).
  • Materials: AISI 304 stainless-steel container, conductive frame and antistatic filter media.
  • HEPA H14 filter certified to EN 1822 / IEST RP-CC001 (MPPS method).
  • Accessories are conductive and antistatic, but not independently ATEX tested.

Technical note

In Zone 21 installations, dust-tight construction, grounding continuity and the use of conductive accessories are essential. The MTL 451 BL 1/2D is certified for internal Zone 20 (Da), meaning it can safely collect combustible dust directly inside the filter chamber and container. Always use antistatic or conductive hoses and tools, and verify resistance to ground (< 10⁶ Ω). This model is for dry collection only – not suitable for flammable liquids.

FAQ

What does II 1/2D (Da/Db) mean?
Internal Zone 20 (Da) for the container and filter housing, and external Zone 21 (Db) for the surrounding area. The vacuum can therefore safely collect combustible dust in Zone 21 environments.

What is included in the TA.0229.0000 accessory kit?
Antistatic Ø 40 mm kit for dry collection: 3 m antistatic hose, cuffs/adapters, reducer, bent wand, conical nozzle and stainless-steel floor tool with wheels.

Is the HEPA filter tested?
Yes – H14 (EN 1822, MPPS method) with 99.995 % efficiency at 0.3 µm particle size.

Can it be used for conductive metal dust?
No – only INERT models are suitable for metal powders and require an inert separator.
