ATEX dust collector for Zone 22 – internal and external classification

Depureco DF22 DEX 1/3D is an ATEX dust collector designed as a mobile filter unit and dust collector for the extraction of airborne and suspended dust in potentially explosive dust atmospheres. The unit is intended for point extraction and process extraction where ATEX-compliant dust collection is required in Zone 22.

The dust collector is marked II 1/3D Ex h IIIC T140°C Da/Dc and is designed as a “Dry Type” dust collector in accordance with EN 17348. The ATEX category 1/3D means that the unit is classified for Zone 20 inside the machine and Zone 22 in the surrounding environment.

Application

DF22 DEX 1/3D is used for extraction at process equipment, filling stations and work areas where explosive dust may be present in the air. The mobile filter unit can be used with direct hose connection or combined with an ATEX-certified extraction arm for flexible point extraction in ATEX-classified dust environments.

Product and datasheet material show applications in industrial environments where controlled extraction of airborne dust is required to maintain safe operation in Zone 22.

Technical design

The suction unit consists of an ATEX-certified electric fan providing stable airflow through the filtration system. The construction is suitable for external use in Zone 22, while the internal part of the unit is classified for Zone 20.

The filter unit is built around an antistatic polyester star filter, class M, with manual filter cleaning. Dust is collected in an AISI 304 stainless steel bin mounted on a mobile chassis.
