NORRES CONNECT 228
Elastic protection tape for clamps – highly durable and chemical-resistant
NORRES CONNECT 228 is a flexible and durable protection tape designed to be placed between the hose and the clamp to prevent hose damage during tightening. The tape protects the hose wall from friction, vibration and pressure marks, extending service life even under demanding industrial conditions.
Properties and construction
- Easy and quick to install – reusable.
- Highly abrasion-resistant with excellent resistance to oil, gasoline and chemicals.
- Made of high-quality polyurethane (PU).
- Temperature range: –40 °C to +90 °C (short-term up to +125 °C).
- Complies with RoHS and REACH regulations.
- Standard colour: black (other colours available on request).
Applications
Used as a protective layer between the hose and the clamp (e.g. CLAMP 212 or CLAMP 217) to prevent wear marks and pressure points on the hose surface. Especially suitable for AIRDUC®, PROTAPE® and CP hose series in extraction, ventilation and process systems.
Technical note
When mounting spiral hoses in ATEX installations, CONNECT 228 can be used as a mechanical protection layer without interrupting the electrical contact between the hose and clamp. However, the tape should not be wrapped around the entire circumference if direct metal-to-metal contact is required for equipotential bonding. Its elastic design makes it ideal for frequent service disassembly where the hose must remain intact.
