NORRES TIMBERDUC® PUR 533 AS (MD)
Antistatic and flame-retardant PUR hose for the woodworking and furniture industry – medium duty
NORRES TIMBERDUC® PUR 533 AS (MD) is a robust, antistatic and flame-retardant suction and transport hose designed for extraction of wood dust and chips in woodworking and furniture production. The hose provides high abrasion resistance, increased pressure/vacuum strength and a smooth inner wall for efficient flow and low friction in dedusting and filtration systems.
Applications
The hose is typically used for:
- Extraction of wood dust and chips from saws, planers, edge and milling machines
- Dedusting and filtration systems in wood processing and furniture manufacturing
- Extraction from parquet sanders, CNC machines and surface treatment units
- Oil-mist and fume extraction, and pneumatic conveying systems
- Explosion-hazard areas with combustible dust (Zone 22)
Technical note: The hose is suitable where the conveyed wood dust or chips may be classified as ATEX Zone 20, 21 or 22 inside the hose (the material stream). The ambient zone classification is determined separately in the plant’s ATEX risk assessment.
Properties and approvals
- Heavy-duty construction with high abrasion, pressure and vacuum resistance
- Permanently antistatic wall – surface resistance < 10⁹ Ω according to ISO 8031 / TRGS 727
- Flame-retardant according to DIN 4102-B1
- Good resistance to oil, gasoline and chemicals; microbe-resistant
- Temperature range: −40 °C to +90 °C (short-term +125 °C)
- Complies with ATEX 2014/34/EU and German TRGS 727 for pneumatic conveying of combustible dust
Design
1 = Spring-steel wire firmly embedded in the wall
2 = Wall made of permanently antistatic premium polyurethane (Pre-PUR®), resistant to aggressive wood types and preservatives
3 = AIRDUC® profile with smooth inner surface for low friction and easy cleaning
Wall thickness ≈ 0.7 mm / Meets DIN 26057 Type 2 for wood-dust and chip extraction hoses.
Technical note for professionals
In the woodworking sector, ATEX requirements are combined with specific safety standards. Zone classification normally follows EN 60079-10-2 and TRGS 727 (electrostatics). For wood-dust hoses, many users follow DIN 26057 Type 2 and BG guidelines for extraction systems. The TIMBERDUC® 533 AS (MD) meets these through a permanently antistatic wall, flame retardancy (DIN 4102-B1) and mechanical robustness. Proper grounding and equipotential bonding between machine, hose and filter unit are essential in any ATEX installation.
Recommended accessories
- CLAMP 210 / 212 / 213 / 217 – stainless-steel clamps with potential equalisation
- CONNECT 228 / 233 – adapter and moulded couplings
- CONNECT 240–246 AS – thread and system couplings for pneumatic or extraction systems
- CONNECT 270–271 – hygienic stainless-steel couplings (where required)

FAQ: NORRES TIMBERDUC® PUR 533 AS (MD)
What is this hose used for?
For extraction of wood dust and chips in woodworking and furniture production (saws, planers, milling, sanding, CNC) and in dedusting and filtration systems, including Zone 22 dust areas.
How does it relate to ATEX?
Used where the conveyed material inside the hose may present an explosion hazard (classified as ATEX Zone 20/21/22 inside the hose). The surrounding area classification is defined in the user’s ATEX risk assessment. Correct grounding and bonding are required.
Is the hose antistatic and flame-retardant?
Yes – permanently antistatic wall (< 10⁹ Ω, ISO 8031 / TRGS 727) and flame-retardant according to DIN 4102-B1.
What are the temperature and pressure limits?
Temperature −40 °C to +90 °C (short-term +125 °C). Pressure/vacuum values depend on diameter – see technical table.
Which accessories are recommended?
CLAMP 210–217 and CONNECT 228/233/240–246 AS or CONNECT 270–271, depending on the installation and grounding requirements.
