Tiger-Vac ATEX-10A (IT-40L) DT CFE HEPA 2GD PNEUMATIC
The Tiger-Vac ATEX-10A (IT-40L) DT CFE HEPA 2GD PNEUMATIC is an advanced inert ATEX vacuum cleaner designed for the safe recovery of both water- and oil-compatible metallic dusts. The enhanced Wet Mix immersion system supports the use of either water or inert oil, allowing the user to select the correct liquid based on the SDS and the reactivity of the material. Being fully pneumatic, the unit is ideal for environments where electrical equipment is restricted.
Liquid type, compatibility and materials
This model is a Water or Oil inert system. Water is used for metals that do not react with water, such as aluminium, copper, brass, steel, nickel-based alloys and most AM metal powders where the SDS confirms no reaction with water. Oil is required for water-reactive or pyrophoric metals such as magnesium, lithium, zirconium, pyrophoric titanium AM powders and water-sensitive ammunition. The user must always verify the correct liquid selection according to the SDS.
Technical construction and filtration
The IT-40L immersion separator directs the dust into the liquid bath where it is bound, cooled and neutralised. The airflow then passes through a CFE/coalescing module that captures aerosols and fine droplets before being filtered by a high-efficiency HEPA H14 filter. The entire system is constructed from stainless steel, is fully ESD-safe and ATEX 2GD certified for use in Zone 1, 2, 21 and 22. The pneumatic motor ensures reliable operation without electrical components.
Safety features
Correct inert operation requires proper liquid level, correct choice of water or oil, reliable grounding and operation within the specified ATEX zone. Only metallic dusts may be recovered; organic dusts are strictly prohibited. Accessories are not ATEX type-tested and must be part of a properly bonded system. The user must verify SDS compatibility, process requirements and the proper handling of collected sludge.
Industries
Metal 3D printing and additive manufacturing, powder metallurgy, ammunition, laboratories, energy and electronics, machining, workshops, prototyping and metal recycling.
Inert or ATEX – do you know the difference?
For reactive metal dusts, a dry ATEX vacuum may be insufficient. Learn when inertisation is required and when ATEX alone is enough.
Accessories
ATEX-safe hose kits, antistatic tubes and tools, CFE/coalescing modules, HEPA H14 filters, inert oil (optional), wet recovery bag, ESD-safe tool sets and stainless-steel collection containers.
Technical note
This model supports both water- and oil-based inertisation. The user must always confirm material reactivity via the SDS and select the correct liquid accordingly. Reactive metals require oil to avoid hazardous reactions.
FAQ
- Can I use both water and oil? Yes, the model is Water or Oil. The correct choice depends on the SDS and metal reactivity.
- Which metals require oil? Magnesium, lithium, zirconium and pyrophoric titanium AM powders.
- Can I recover organic dusts? No, organic dusts must never be recovered in an inert vacuum system.
- What happens if the wrong liquid is used? Incorrect liquid selection may cause dangerous reactions and compromise ATEX safety.
- Which zones is this model certified for? ATEX 2GD – Zones 1, 2, 21 and 22.
