Tiger-Vac C-10 EX DT (PRS-HEC)

ATEX Zone 20/22 Powder Recovery System with High Efficiency Cyclone for 3D Printing and Additive Manufacturing

The Tiger-Vac C-10 EX DT (PRS-HEC) is a fully ATEX-certified Powder Recovery System (PRS) engineered for the safe, efficient and compliant recovery of combustible and conductive powders used in 3D printing and Additive Manufacturing. The system integrates a High Efficiency Cyclone (HEC) capable of separating up to 98% of powder before final filtration, combined with a multi-stage HEPA H14 filtration package to ensure operator safety, product integrity and cleanroom compatibility.

  • ATEX marking: II 1/3D – Ex h IIIC T200°C Da (internal) / Ex h tc IIIC T200°C Dc IP6X (external).
  • Certified safe for conductive and combustible powders (IIIC) used in AM environments.
  • High Efficiency Cyclone separates up to 98% of powder prior to filtration.
  • 4 × individually tested HEPA H14 filters (99.99% @ 0.3 μm) for maximum protection.
  • Dry Recovery Only – ideal for metallic and polymer powders (Ti, Al, Inconel, PA12, PP, etc.).
  • 25 L stainless steel detachable recovery tank – powder can be reclaimed depending on process requirements.
  • Designed for SLS, MJF, DMLS, SLM, EBM, Binder Jetting and powder-based AM workflows.

HEC – High Efficiency Cyclone

The integrated HEC module performs mechanical separation of powder without using filter media. This reduces filter loading, extends filter life and ensures highly stable airflow performance. The cyclone meets the requirements of NFPA 484 §11.2.4.4.1 – “Powder collection via cyclone”.

Safety and ATEX compliance

  • Internal Zone 20 (Da) rating – safe contact with combustible powder inside tank and cyclone.
  • External Zone 22 (Dc) rating – safe operation in dusty, potentially explosive work areas.
  • ATEX 3rd-party certified by LCIE (0081) – full documentation included.
  • All system components are static dissipative for ESD control and grounding compliance.

Applications and industries

Engineered for powder-intensive environments where purity, containment and recovery efficiency are critical:

  • 3D printing (SLS, MJF, SLM, DMLS, EBM)
  • Additive Manufacturing powder handling lines
  • Metal powder recovery and reconditioning
  • Polymer powder handling for AM
  • Laboratories, R&D facilities and controlled industrial production

Technical note

The PRS-HEC system recovers powder through a high-efficiency cyclone, capturing the majority of material in the detachable 25 L tank and greatly reducing HEPA filter consumption. The four HEPA H14 filters provide exceptional containment of ultra-fine particulates. The system is certified for Dry Recovery Only and must not be used for liquid collection.

FAQ

Why is this system certified for internal Zone 20?
Because the recovered powder is in direct contact with the cyclone and tank. The system is certified as II 1D (Da) internally for safe handling of combustible and conductive powders.

How much powder can the cyclone separate?
Up to 98% of powder before the HEPA stages, according to the PRS-HEC brochure.:contentReference[oaicite:3]{index=3}

Can the recovered powder be reused?
Yes. Depending on process specifications, the reclaimed powder can be sieved and reintroduced into the AM workflow.

How is the PRS-HEC different from standard ATEX vacuums?
It is a dedicated Powder Recovery System with a cyclone, 1/3D ATEX rating, and 4 × HEPA H14 filters – specifically engineered for AM powder control and reclaiming.

Can it recover liquids?
No. The PRS-HEC is Dry Recovery Only and cannot be used for liquids.
