Tiger-Vac CD/EUR-36L EX DT (MFS) HEPA 1/2GD

ATEX 1/2GD industrial vacuum cleaner for combustible and conductive dust in Zone 1, 2, 21 and 22

The Tiger-Vac CD/EUR-36L EX DT (MFS) HEPA is a vertically configured ATEX- and IECEx-certified industrial vacuum cleaner engineered for the safe recovery of combustible and conductive dusts in Gas Zones 1–2 and Dust Zones 21–22. The stainless steel AISI 304 construction, static dissipative filter system and system resistivity of less than 10 ohms make it ideal for pharmaceutical processing, chemical production, powder handling, metal powder applications and other environments where ESD control and explosion protection are required.

  • ATEX marking: II 1/2GD – External: Ex db h IIB T4 Gb / Ex h tb IIIC T135°C Db IP65 – Internal: Ex h IIC T6 Ga / Ex h IIIC T50°C Da.
  • Zone classification: designed for operation in Gas Zones 1–2 and Dust Zones 21–22, with internal Category 1 protection (Ga/Da) for safe handling of combustible and conductive dusts and vapours.
  • Motor: continuous duty (TEFC) explosion proof/dust ignition proof motor, available in 3-phase 400 V 2.2 kW or single-phase 230 V 1.5 kW configurations.
  • Filtration: static dissipative PTFE-laminated star-shaped main filter combined with a 99.995% efficient HEPA H14 filter at 0.3 µm – all HEPA systems are aerosol leak tested before dispatch.
  • Collection: 36 L detachable stainless steel tank (DT) with optional static dissipative poly liner for clean, dust-free disposal.

Technical design and filtration system

The CD/EUR-36L EX DT (MFS) HEPA uses a vertical configuration with a Carriage with Suspended Motor Top (CSMT) and a separate filter chamber positioned above the detachable collection tank. The static dissipative main filter is a PTFE-laminated star-shaped filter with a total surface area of 8,584 cm², mounted inside a removable filter chamber for easy service. The Manual Filter Shaker (MFS) ensures efficient filter cleaning during operation to maintain airflow and vacuum performance.

The downstream HEPA H14 filter provides 99.995% efficiency at 0.3 µm (tested to IEST-RP-CC001 and EN 1822 using the MPPS method). An optional upstream (internal) HEPA module is available for high-containment environments. All dust-contact surfaces in the filter and collection sections are made from AISI 304 stainless steel, supporting use in cleanrooms and pharmaceutical applications.

Safety, ESD control and certification

  • ATEX 3rd party certified by LCIE (0081) according to Directive 2014/34/EU, with marking II 1/2GD, temperature classes T4/T6 and enclosure rating IP65.
  • IECEx certified (IECEx LCI 10.0040X) for the safe recovery of combustible and conductive dusts; designed in compliance with EN 17348 (combustible dust collection) and DT requirements.
  • ESD-safe construction with a total system resistivity of less than 10 ohms and a complete static dissipative tool kit; supplied with a continuity tester for verification of grounding integrity.
  • Temperature range: -5 °C to +37 °C – suitable for most indoor production and process environments.
  • Includes an ESD continuity tester to ensure correct bonding and grounding of the vacuum, hose and accessories.

Applications and industries

With its ATEX and IECEx certifications, stainless steel design, HEPA filtration and ESD-controlled accessories, the CD/EUR-36L EX DT (MFS) HEPA is ideal for combustible and conductive dust recovery in pharmaceutical production, chemical processing, plastics and composites, metal powders and additive manufacturing, food production and any industrial environment where explosive dust hazards are present. Its vertical footprint makes it suitable for installation next to machinery or inside technical rooms with limited floor space.

FAQ

What does the ATEX marking II 1/2GD mean?
It indicates Category 1 internal protection (Ga/Da) and Category 2 external protection (Gb/Db) for both gas (G) and dust (D). In practical terms, the vacuum can operate safely in Gas Zones 1–2 and Dust Zones 21–22, while the internal construction supports safe recovery of combustible and conductive dusts and vapours.

Is the CD/EUR-36L EX DT (MFS) HEPA suitable for cleanrooms and pharmaceutical production?
Yes. The filter chamber and collection tank are made from AISI 304 stainless steel, and the vacuum is designed for cleanroom-compatible operation with HEPA H14 final filtration. The ESD-safe design further supports safe use in pharma, biotech and other controlled environments.

What is the difference between the 230 V and 400 V versions?
Both models provide the same airflow of 212 m³/h and vacuum up to 2,540 mm H₂O. The 400 V model uses a 2.2 kW three-phase motor, while the 230 V version uses a 1.5 kW single-phase motor. The choice depends on your available power supply and operational requirements.

How is the main filter cleaned, and is it washable?
The main filter is a washable static dissipative PTFE-laminated star filter. During operation, it is cleaned via the Manual Filter Shaker (MFS). For service, the filter chamber can be lifted off and the filter can be removed for washing or replacement.

What accessories are included, and are they ESD-safe?
The vacuum includes a complete Ø38 mm static dissipative tool kit with hose, double-bend wand, universal floor tool, crevice tool and dusting brush. All components are engineered for less than 10 ohms of resistance. A multimeter continuity tester is included for grounding verification.
