Tiger-Vac EXP1-20L (DT) RE HEPA (MFS) 2GD
ATEX 2GD industrial vacuum cleaner for pharmaceutical powders and combustible dust
The Tiger-Vac EXP1-20L (DT) RE HEPA (MFS) is a compact, ESD-safe ATEX 2GD industrial vacuum cleaner designed for the safe collection of combustible and conductive dust in areas where both gas and dust explosion hazards may be present. Its stainless steel AISI 304 construction, HEPA final filtration and static dissipative accessories make it ideal for pharmaceutical production, laboratory environments and cleanrooms where both process safety and product protection are essential.
- ATEX marking: II 2GD Ex d IIA T3 Gb / Ex t IIIC T200°C Db IP6X, -5 °C ≤ Ta ≤ +37 °C.
- Single-phase explosion-proof / dust-ignition-proof motor (1 kW) with high filtration efficiency.
- All product-contact parts in AISI 304 stainless steel, engineered for dry recovery of fine powders.
- Delivered with a complete static-dissipative Ø38 mm tool kit and a HEPA final filter as standard.
Technical construction
The EXP1-20L (DT) RE HEPA (MFS) is built as a high-efficiency filtration unit with a 25-liter detachable tank (DT). The main filter is a static dissipative PTFE-treated cartridge supported by a wire cage, designed to capture fine dust and powders. The integrated HEPA H14 final filter (99.995% at 0.3 µm, tested to EN 1822 and IEST-RP-CC001) ensures extremely high retention levels. A manual filter shaker (MFS) provides effective filter cleaning without compressed air.
The vacuum cleaner is mounted on a robust 4-wheel trolley with tool tray, equipped with static-dissipative or conductive wheels. A stainless steel trolley in AISI 304 is available as an option for demanding pharmaceutical and cleanroom applications.
Pharma and cleanroom applications
The unit is specified as cleanroom compatible and may be used in environments up to ISO Class 4 (formerly Class 10) when operated and maintained correctly. It is engineered for the dry recovery of fine powders such as APIs, tablet and capsule dust, excipients and other pharmaceutical or biotech materials where controlled dust collection and ESD protection are critical.
A static dissipative conductive poly liner can be added for safe and low-exposure disposal. The liner allows the collected dust to be sealed inside a conductive bag directly in the tank, reducing the risk of operator exposure and cross-contamination.
Safety and certification
- ATEX third-party certified by LCIE (LCIE 03 ATEX 6297) for II 2GD classification.
- Certified according to EN 17348 DT for combustible dust collection.
- Complete ESD protection with total resistance below 10 ohms to prevent electrostatic discharge.
- HEPA filter is OSHA compliant and individually leak-tested; ULPA filtration available on request.
Tools and options
The EXP1-20L (DT) RE HEPA (MFS) comes with a complete Ø38 mm static-dissipative tool kit including hose, 2-piece stainless wand, universal floor tool with conductive brushes and rubber blades, crevice nozzle, round brush, and conductive rubber cone nozzle. The kit also includes a multimeter for ESD resistance verification. Optional accessories include conductive crush-proof hoses, alternative nozzles, and grounding reels for integration into larger ATEX installations.
Technical note
The EXP1-20L (DT) RE HEPA (MFS) is engineered for the safe collection of combustible, conductive and metallic dust, when used together with the supplied static-dissipative tools. Its dual gas and dust certification (II 2GD) allows use in areas where both flammable gases (IIA, T3) and explosive dust (IIIC, T200°C) may be present. To maintain ATEX compliance, all connected hoses, tools and pipe systems must be static-dissipative or conductive and included in a proper bonding and grounding system together with the vacuum, suction point and operating procedures.

FAQ
What does the ATEX marking II 2GD Ex d IIA T3 Gb / Ex t IIIC T200°C Db IP6X mean?
It indicates that the vacuum cleaner is third-party certified for use in areas with both flammable gases (Zone 1, Group IIA, T3) and combustible dust (Zone 21, Group IIIC, up to 200°C surface temperature), with a dust-tight enclosure (IP6X).
Is the vacuum suitable for pharmaceutical and cleanroom environments?
Yes. All product-contact surfaces are stainless steel AISI 304, and the unit is specified as cleanroom compatible up to ISO Class 4 when used with the supplied static-dissipative accessories and proper maintenance.
Can it be used with conductive or metallic dust?
Yes. The system is fully ESD-safe (below 10 ohms) and must always be used with static-dissipative tools. For metallic, conductive or pyrotechnic dust, the supplied explosion-safe tool kit is mandatory.
What filtration level does the HEPA filter provide?
The HEPA filter is H14 (99.995% at 0.3 µm), tested according to EN 1822 and IEST-RP-CC001, and each unit is individually aerosol leak-tested before shipment.
Is a dust-free disposal solution available?
Yes. A static dissipative conductive poly liner can be added to keep collected dust inside a conductive bag during removal and disposal, minimizing operator exposure.
