Tiger-Vac EXP1-55 (DMB) TE
Explosion proof fuel and solvent recovery vacuum for Zone 1/21 (2GD) – stainless steel, ESD-safe and equipped with Dead Man Brake
The Tiger-Vac EXP1-55 (DMB) TE 2GD is a legally ATEX-certified industrial vacuum cleaner for the safe recovery of flammable liquids, vapors and solids in Zone 1 (gas) and Zone 21 (dust). The AISI 304 stainless-steel construction ensures spark-free operation, and all components are electrically bonded (resistivity < 10 Ω).
This model was developed in close cooperation with the U.S. Air Force and is used for defueling and depuddling of F-16, F-35 and other aircraft types where safe emptying of fuel tanks is critical.
The robust DMB (Dead Man Brake) cart prevents accidental movement during operation, making it ideal for stationary use in hangars, depots and fueling areas.
The EXP1-55 (DMB) TE can also be used safely in civil aviation and industrial environments handling jet fuel, gasoline, diesel or solvents.
An optional activated-carbon cartridge is available for vapor adsorption, and an H14 HEPA filter can be added for maximum particle retention.

FAQ
How does the DMB model differ from the standard version?
It features a four-wheel cart with Dead Man Brake that automatically locks the unit during operation – ideal for stationary applications in hangars and fuel depots.
Was it developed with the U.S. Air Force?
Yes. The vacuum is a refined version of the EXP series tested and recommended by the U.S. Air Force under the MEEP program (Eglin AFB), used today for F-16 and F-35 aircraft.
Can it be used in civil applications?
Yes. It can be used in any ATEX-classified area handling jet fuel, gasoline, diesel or solvents.
Which standards apply?
Directive 2014/34/EU (ATEX) and EN 17348 (LC – Liquids Collection). Certificate LCIE 03 ATEX 6297.
Is it ESD safe?
Yes. All components are conductive with resistivity < 10 Ω and fitted with static-dissipative wheels.
