Tiger-Vac SS-IT (85L) EX 2GD OIL MIX PNEUMATIC

Tiger-Vac SS-IT (85L) EX 2GD OIL MIX PNEUMATIC is a high-safety pneumatic inert vacuum cleaner designed for the recovery and inertization of highly reactive, self-heating and explosive metal dusts. The system uses an Immersion Separator Wet Oil Mix and represents the most robust and conservative solution for critical metal powder applications.

Inertization and liquid type

The vacuum cleaner is designed for use with mineral oil or another approved neutralizing liquid. Dust is conveyed directly into an oil-based immersion bath where it is bound, isolated from oxygen and stabilized as wet sludge. Water must not be used in this model. Tiger-Vac recommends mineral oil with a viscosity of approximately 10.5 cSt.

Permitted metals

The Oil Mix system is designed for the safe recovery and inertization of highly reactive and explosive metals such as aluminum, magnesium, zirconium and other commercial alloys, including materials normally considered water-reactive.

Prohibited materials

Organic dust, non-metallic materials and materials without documented compatibility with oil must not be collected. The customer must always verify the material safety data sheet before use.

Technical design

The system is air-operated and based on the Venturi principle, without electrical components or moving mechanical parts. The construction is made of AISI 304 stainless steel and mounted on a heavy-duty industrial frame with a detachable recovery tank.

Filtration

The vacuum cleaner is equipped with HEPA-grade Coalescing Filter Elements for efficient separation of oil aerosols. The Oil Mix version is supplied with multiple coalescing filters to ensure maximum operational reliability during continuous oil use.

Safety and certification

The SS-IT (85L) OIL MIX is ATEX 2GD certified and IECEx approved with Ex h IIC T6 Gb and Ex h IIIC T85°C Db. The system is ESD-safe with a documented system resistance below 10 ohms and is explicitly designated as hydrogen-safe, making it suitable for processes with a risk of gas generation. The equipment complies with EN 17348 WT and NFPA 484 for wet inertization of metal dust.

Industries and applications

Ideal for metal additive manufacturing and 3D printing, powder metallurgy, ammunition-related processes, laboratories, energy and electronics production, and applications involving unstable or unknown metal powders.

Inert or ATEX – do you know the difference?

For reactive and self-heating metal dusts, inertization is often required. Learn when ATEX alone is not sufficient.

Accessories and optional equipment

Included are coalescing filter elements, sieve basket, liquid level indicator, conductive hoses and a complete tool kit. Optional equipment includes a rupture disk, degassing vent, dust extraction arm with various hoods and an upgrade to a heavy-duty stainless steel frame.

Professional note

The Oil Mix version is the preferred solution when maximum safety, hydrogen control and process robustness are required. It should be selected whenever water-based inertization introduces unnecessary risk.
