NORFLEX® PUR 441 ROBOTIC GREEN
Abrasion-resistant high-pressure hose in polyurethane, fabric-reinforced with polyester reinforcement. Designed specifically for industrial robots, where the hose must follow the robot arm's movements cycle after cycle without abrading or kinking. Working pressure up to 20 bar, burst pressure up to 80 bar. Service from −35 °C to +80 °C. The green colour provides visual separation between multiple parallel hoses on the same robot — e.g. different colours for compressed air, coolant and hydraulics.

Why this hose?
NORFLEX® PUR 441 ROBOTIC GREEN is a specialist hose for industrial robots. Robots have a particular wear pattern: each movement cycle bends the hose at the same angles again and again. Standard hoses wear quickly at the specific bend points — the PUR + polyester reinforcement in this hose is chosen precisely because it tolerates this dynamic, repeated load pattern across thousands of cycles.
The green colour isn't just aesthetic. On a modern robot arm, typically 4-6 parallel hoses run, each carrying different media — compressed air, coolant, hydraulics, signals. Colour coding makes it possible to identify each hose without following it from end to end. The industry standard often uses: blue = compressed air, black = hydraulics, red = coolant, green = signals or drinking water.
Where it is used
On industrial robots the hose runs its full length along the robot arm's joints, with permanently fitted couplings at each end. It follows the arm's movements and must be able to pull and push without losing integrity — hence the high burst pressure of 80 bar.
In the automotive industry it's used particularly on assembly line robots (welding, painting, assembly) where robots work 24/7 shifts. Lifetime of a well-chosen hose is typically 6-12 months before replacement — but depends heavily on cycle frequency and bend radius in the specific setup.
In everyday talk we call it a "robot hose" or "PUR robotic" — the green colour is the first thing you recognise when walking through a robot setup.

Industries that use it
NORFLEX® PUR 441 ROBOTIC is used across industries where robots play a central role:
In the automotive industry it's standard on assembly line robots — particularly in welding, painting and assembly cells where cycle frequency is high and lifetime is critical for production uptime.
In general mechanical engineering and automation it's used on pick-and-place robots, palletising facilities and packaging lines. Colour coding is important here because maintenance personnel must quickly identify which hose carries which medium.
Custom lengths and assemblies
The hose is delivered on 50 m rolls. We cut to length and fit high-pressure fittings (typically threaded or bayonet) as a finished assembly — important for robot applications where 20 bar working pressure is the norm.
For serial deliveries we can establish identical lengths and couplings across all robot cells in an installation.

Frequently asked questions
Why is it green?
Colour coding on robot hoses allows maintenance personnel to quickly identify which hose carries which medium, without having to follow it from end to end. Each colour in the ROBOTIC range (black, blue, green, red) is typically used for specific media — e.g. blue for compressed air, black for hydraulics. The colour system is recommended, but it's the production's responsibility to define the specific coding scheme.
What's the difference between ROBOTIC and standard NORFLEX® PUR 441 FOOD?
ROBOTIC is specialised for dynamic cyclic load on robot arms — that's why the PUR + polyester reinforcement is optimised for flexibility and abrasion resistance under repeated bending. The FOOD variant is food-grade and prioritises microbe resistance and hygiene. Choose ROBOTIC for pneumatics/hydraulics on robots; choose FOOD for food production.
How long is the lifetime in a robot?
It depends greatly on cycle frequency, bend radius and medium type. Typically 6-12 months at 24/7 operation on an assembly line robot. The hose should be inspected regularly for signs of wear (surface cracks, discolouration) and replaced proactively before it fails — robot downtime is much more expensive than preventive maintenance.
Does it tolerate 80 bar continuously?
No. 80 bar is the burst pressure — the point at which the hose mechanically fails. Working pressure (continuous) is 20 bar. The burst pressure has a safety factor of 4× which is industry standard, meaning the hose can withstand pressure spikes without immediate failure.
Is it food-grade?
No. The ROBOTIC variants are not food-grade. If you need food contact, choose the NORFLEX® PUR 441 FOOD variant instead.
Can I get it with specific couplings?
Yes. We cut to length and fit high-pressure fittings — typically threaded (BSP, NPT) or standard bayonet couplings. For specific robot brand couplings (e.g. ABB, Fanuc, KUKA, Universal Robots) we can adapt to the specific standard coupling scheme.
