AISI 304 vs 316Ti for pharma?
AISI 304 (1.4301) is the most widespread stainless steel grade and covers most food applications + standard pharma. For pharma installations where compliance specifically requires 316-grade (typically due to chloride exposure or high-temperature CIP cycles) we recommend CONNECT TRI-CLAMP 245 (AISI 316L) or CONNECT DAIRY 247 (can be supplied in 316Ti) instead. Contact us if pharma compliance requires 316-grade fitting.
Which seal should I use?
DIN ISO 228 parallel thread requires sealing on the protruding face (not in the thread itself). For food/pharma we recommend food-approved O-ring in silicone (FDA), EPDM or FKM depending on medium. For standard process, PTFE tape can also be used. Contact us with medium specification for precise recommendations.
