CONNECT 240 + 241 FOOD is the food-grade version of our standard 240/241 soft sleeve. The sleeve is manufactured with food-compliant wall and meets EU's primary food-contact regulations: EU 10/2011 (plastic materials in contact with food), EC 1935/2004 (general food contact) and EU 2015/174 (specific migration limits). This makes it ideal for food and pharma industry where the sleeve comes into potential contact with product during transport. 5 dimensions with hose ID from 38 mm to 70 mm match the AIRDUC FOOD series (350, 351, 355) and PVC variants (341, 345). The combination of food compliance, abrasion resistance and chemical resistance makes it a universally applicable coupling sleeve in process facilities.

Frequently asked questions
What does food-grade compliance mean?
Food-grade compliance means the sleeve's wall is manufactured and tested to be in contact with food without migration of harmful substances. EU 10/2011 specifies which plastic materials are allowed and their migration limits. EC 1935/2004 is the overall framework regulation for food contact. EU 2015/174 specifies migration limits for certain substances. Sleeves complying with all three are free of food-safety concerns in normal industrial use.
Difference from CONNECT 240?
CONNECT 240 (base) has abrasion-, chemical- and microbe-resistance but is NOT food-grade. CONNECT 240 + 241 FOOD has the same base construction but is manufactured with a different wall compound that is food-contact approved. Choose the FOOD version for all process installations where the product potentially comes into contact with the coupling.
Which hoses?
CONNECT 240 + 241 FOOD is qualified for the full AIRDUC FOOD series: 350 FOOD-AS, 351 FOOD, 355 FOOD HD, 356 FOOD XHD plus PUR-INOX-FOOD variants (351 FOOD-AS, 355 FOOD-AS, 356 FOOD-AS). The sleeve also fits AIRDUC PVC 341 and 345 if used in food areas.
Should the sleeve be cleaned specially?
The sleeve withstands standard CIP/SIP cleaning cycles with hot caustic solution or specific food-approved cleaning agents. Specific temperature limits are recommended to consult in the factsheet. For autoclaving or high-temperature sterilisation: contact us for project-specific advice.
