What is DIN 11851 and why is it important?
DIN 11851 is the European standard for milk-pipe fittings in dairy industry and has been extended to the full food and pharma sector. The standard specifies fitting geometry, dimensions, sealing face sizes and surface finish (typically Ra <= 0.8 micrometer) so equipment from different suppliers can be combined without special adapters. This is critical in process facilities where a CONNECT DAIRY 247 must connect directly to standardised valves, pumps and tanks without custom solutions.
AISI 304 vs AISI 316Ti - which to choose?
AISI 304 (1.4301) is standard stainless steel and covers most dairy and food applications. AISI 316Ti (1.4571) has extra molybdenum addition + titanium stabilisation giving better corrosion resistance against chlorides and high-temperature applications. For strongly corrosive media (saltwater, high chloride concentrations, aggressive cleaning solutions) or for pharma installations where compliance requires 316-grade, choose AISI 316Ti. For standard dairy and food processing AISI 304 is sufficient.

CONNECT DAIRY 247 is designed for our food- and pharma-approved hoses - especially the AIRDUC PUR-INOX FOOD-AS series (351, 355, 356), BARDUC PUR-INOX FOOD-AS 382 and BARDUC PVC FOOD 381. Choose dimension where the hose's internal diameter (ID) matches the table.
Difference from CONNECT TRI-CLAMP 245?
Both are sanitary food/pharma fittings but on different standards. CONNECT TRI-CLAMP 245 is DIN 32676 - clamp pipe connection where two parts are clamped together via tri-clamp bracket and gasket. CONNECT DAIRY 247 is DIN 11851 - milk-pipe fitting with thread nut and special gasket. Both are used in food/pharma; the choice depends on which standard your existing process facility requires.
