Why this hose?

CARBOFLEX®/EN is a suction and pressure hose specifically designed for fuel transfer in marine, transport and industrial contexts. EN 12115:2021 is the European standard for tank truck hoses transporting flammable liquids — only hoses meeting this standard may be used for commercial fuel distribution in many EU countries.

The difference from CARBOCORD/10 is decisive: CARBOFLEX is suction-pressure (can both suck and push), while CARBOCORD is pressure-only. For fuel bunkering where the hose must first suck from tank A and then push to tank B, CARBOFLEX is the right choice.

Where it is used

In marine bunkering the hose typically sits on liquid fuel distribution — from tanker to harbour tank or between ships in open water.

In the transport industry it's used on tank trucks distributing fuel to pumping stations or industrial facilities.

In everyday talk we call it an "EN 12115" hose — it's the standardised tank truck hose.

Fields without a value (—) are not specified in the manufacturer's factsheet. Overpressure and underpressure values are recommended operating limits; the product can be subjected to higher loads on request. Bend radius is measured along the inside of the hose bend.

Standards and compliance

CARBOFLEX®/EN is certified to:

  • EN 12115:2021. European standard for tank truck hoses transporting flammable liquids.
  • EN 1761:1999. Standard for fuel hoses.
  • TRbF 131, Part 2, § 5.5. German technical rule for flammable liquids.
  • REACH and RoHS.

Industries that use it

CARBOFLEX®/EN is the standardised fuel transfer hose:

In marine and transport it's the only practical solution when authority approval per EN 12115 is required.

In petrochemical industry it's used for internal fuel transfer between tanks and distribution points.

Custom lengths and assemblies

The hose is delivered on 40 m rolls. We cut to length and fit Camlock, flange or bayonet with correct grounding — important for ATEX compliance.

For marine bunkering we can deliver certified finished assemblies with documentation.

Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between CARBOFLEX/EN and CARBOCORD/10?

CARBOFLEX/EN is suction-pressure — can both suck from tank and push to tank. CARBOCORD/10 is pressure-only — only for loading, not unloading. For marine bunkering or tank-to-tank transfer choose CARBOFLEX.

What does EN 12115:2021 mean?

The European standard for tank truck hoses transporting flammable liquids. Only hoses with this certification may be used for commercial fuel distribution in many EU countries.

Does it tolerate unleaded petrol?

Yes. The NBR inner tube tolerates fuel with up to 50% aromatic content — covering all EU standard petrol types.

Does the hose need to be grounded?

Yes, ALWAYS. Fuel transfer builds static quickly — without grounding there's a real explosion risk.

What's the working pressure?

PN 16 bar is standard working pressure. Burst pressure is higher (typically 4× = 64 bar) which is industry-standard safety margin.

Can I get it with Camlock?

Yes. Camlock is standard in marine and transport. We fit Camlock with correct grounding as a finished assembly.
