NORFLEX® PTFE 407
Highly flexible PTFE hose for liquids and gases. Food-grade and extremely chemical-resistant — compatible with almost all industrial media. Anti-adhesive surface. Designed for applications in food and pharma industry where PTFE's broad material resistance is combined with flexibility.
- Food-grade FDA + EU
- −60 to +200 °C
- Anti-adhesive PTFE
- Broadest resistance
- Highly flexible
- Cut to length
Why this hose?
NORFLEX® PTFE 407 is a "pure" PTFE hose without external reinforcement — providing maximum flexibility. PTFE material itself has one of the broadest chemical resistances among flexible polymers.
The combination of food-grade and broad chemical resistance is rare — making the hose particularly usable in pharma where the same installation must handle both pharmaceutical media and cleaning chemicals.
Where it is used
In pharma the hose sits on transfer lines for buffers, solvents and cleaning agents.
In high-purity food production it's used for media dosing and specific process steps requiring chemically neutral material.
In everyday talk we call it a "PTFE 407" or "food PTFE" — the broad chemical-food combination.

Fields without a value (—) are not specified in the manufacturer's factsheet. Overpressure and underpressure values are recommended operating limits; the product can be subjected to higher loads on request. Bend radius is measured along the inside of the hose bend.

Help with material selection
Although this hose isn't ATEX-relevant, these two articles provide useful background on electrical resistance and industrial safety — important if you later combine the hose with electrical equipment or work in mixed environments:
The invisible weakest link
Why a conductive or antistatic hose isn't sufficient on its own — and what grounding means for the complete system.
Know your ohm
The difference between antistatic and conductive, which resistance limits apply where, and how to measure them correctly.
Industries that use it
NORFLEX® PTFE 407 is used in pharma and high-purity food production:
In pharma it's standard for aggressive transfer media and high-temperature SIP/CIP.
In food it's used where PVC or silicone aren't sufficiently chemically resistant.
Custom lengths and assemblies
The hose is delivered on rolls and cut to length with couplings as a finished assembly.
For serial deliveries we can establish consistent assembly.

Frequently asked questions
What's the difference between NORFLEX PTFE 407 and the CP PTFE range?
NORFLEX PTFE 407 is a pure PTFE hose without clamp profile, optimised for high flexibility. The CP PTFE range has clamp profile and is optimised for larger dimensions and extraction arms. Choose 407 for pharma dosing lines; choose CP PTFE for larger extraction applications.
Does it tolerate autoclave sterilisation?
Yes. PTFE is one of the most robust materials for repeated autoclave cycles. Up to +200 °C continuous and short-term peak +260 °C.
Does it tolerate concentrated acids?
PTFE has the broadest chemical resistance among polymers — almost all industrial chemicals. Few exceptions are molten alkali metals and fluorine gas.
Is it ATEX-approved?
Standard 407 is insulating. For ATEX choose a CP PTFE EC variant.
Can I get it with hygiene couplings?
Yes. We fit SMS, Tri-Clamp or DIN 11851 as a finished assembly.
How flexible is it?
Very flexible — the pure PTFE construction without reinforcement gives smaller bend radius than e.g. the CP PTFE range.
