HEDUFLEX
HEDUFLEX is a heavy-duty suction and pressure hose with embedded steel spiral and textile reinforcement. SBR lining combined with wrap construction makes the hose well-suited to transport of water and slurry under pressure or vacuum - typically in agriculture (slurry transport), construction (water distribution on building sites) and industry (hose pumps, wastewater handling).

Why this hose?
HEDUFLEX is built to be both strong and flexible - two properties that often pull in different directions. Textile plies provide burst strength (30 bar), the steel spiral provides collapse resistance (up to 0.9 bar negative pressure), and the SBR lining tolerates chemical and wear stress from industrial water media.
The wrap outer wall is a specific production technique where textile is wrapped around the hose's reinforcement during production. It gives a visually distinct 'spiral-patterned' outside and a very high wear resistance against external impacts - relevant when the hose spends its life on construction sites and in the field.
The pressure class drops on the largest dimensions (203, 254, 305 mm) to 6 bar - a physical consequence of the same wall thickness having to withstand greater force relative to circumference. For practical purposes this is rarely a limitation, because larger hoses are typically used in lower operating-pressure applications.
Where it is used
Agriculture and animal husbandry are the main market. Slurry tanks, slurry trucks and injection systems use HEDUFLEX as a standard solution. The wide dimension range means the same product can cover from smaller connection hoses (19-32 mm) to main pump circuits (203-305 mm).
Construction sites and civil engineering use the hose for water distribution and concrete mixing. The hose's robustness against mechanical wear (drag wear against edges and gravel) is decisive - a finer hose would need to be replaced 3-4 times as frequently.
Industrial pump handling and wastewater treatment use the hose for continuous operation with slurry, mixing water and wastewater. Hose pumps are a specific application where the hose's elasticity under cyclic pressure load is decisive - HEDUFLEX's textile plies are optimised for this use.
HEDUFLEX is colloquially known as a slurry hose or industrial water hose.

Industries that use it
HEDUFLEX is used where a heavy-duty suction and pressure hose must handle water and slurry under varying pressure conditions - typically in agriculture, construction and industrial pump handling.
Agriculture is the single largest market: slurry transport between stables, storage tanks and fields. The SBR lining is resistant to slurry and urine, and the steel spiral ensures the hose can suck from a tank without collapsing. Annual replacement is typical in heavy-duty operation.
Construction industry uses HEDUFLEX as water distribution on building sites, for concrete mixing, dust suppression and support of pump installations. The hose's robustness against mechanical wear (from being dragged over gravel and edges) is one of the core values.
Industrial pump handling and wastewater treatment use the hose for continuous operation with sludge and waste. Textile plies and steel spiral in combination give a hose that is both flexible enough to route through traces and strong enough to resist collapse under suction.
Custom lengths and assemblies
The hose can be delivered cut to desired lengths. The standard roll can be supplemented with shorter pieces or multiple rolls by arrangement.

Frequently asked questions
What is HEDUFLEX built for?
HEDUFLEX is a heavy-duty suction and pressure hose for water and slurry in industry, construction and agriculture. SBR lining combined with steel spiral and textile plies makes the hose well-suited to continuous operation with heavy media - typically slurry transport, construction water supply and slurry pumping.
Which dimensions does HEDUFLEX come in?
A wide range from ID 19 mm to ID 305 mm. The pressure class is 10 bar on standard dimensions (up to approximately 200 mm) and 6 bar on the largest (203, 254, 305 mm) - a consequence of wall thickness relative to circumference being reduced at larger IDs.
Is the SBR lining chemically resistant?
SBR (styrene-butadiene rubber) is resistant to water, sugar solutions, mild acids and bases. It is NOT resistant to mineral oils or organic solvents - for these media we recommend NBR or PUR-lined hoses. For slurry transport (one of the core applications) SBR is the optimal choice.
What makes the hose suitable for slurry?
Three factors: 1) the SBR lining's resistance to slurry and wastewater, 2) the embedded steel spiral that resists collapse under suction from the tank, 3) the textile plies that increase pressure resistance without making the hose too stiff. Together these give a hose that can both suck from and pump to slurry tanks.
Can HEDUFLEX be used for hot water?
Yes - up to 80 C in continuous operation. This covers most industrial water applications incl. process water with moderate heating. For hotter media (above 90 C) we recommend an EPDM-lined hose like RADIACORD.
What is the difference between 10 bar and 6 bar versions?
The pressure class drops on the largest dimensions (203, 254, 305 mm) to 6 bar because the same wall thickness must withstand greater force per cm circumference. For these larger dimensions, lower operating pressures are typically used in commercial pump applications, so it is not a limitation in most practical scenarios.
Is the hose suitable for drinking or food contact?
No - HEDUFLEX has no food approval on the factsheet. For clean-water applications we recommend a variant with explicit EU 1935/2004 or FDA approval. The hose is optimised for industrial and agricultural water handling, not for human consumption.
How long does the hose last?
Service life depends on usage frequency and media. Daily heavy-duty operation with slurry and waste gives typically 3-5 years. Annual visual inspection and leak test is recommended. With visible cracks, peeling between lining and outer wall, or signs of corrosion on the steel spiral the hose must be replaced.
