Why this hose?

INDUFORM RL combines industrial robustness with a specific resistance profile. Thermoplast (PE/PP blend) provides both pressure capacity and compatibility with the media typical in the industry segment.

The hose is constructed for continuous industrial operation -- daily pressure cycle, mechanical wear and temperature variation across the year. The difference to a standard hose lies in the material's formulation and the reinforcement's dimensioning.

In daily use the hose's life cycle is 5-10 years depending on load. Preventive maintenance with annual inspection extends the service life and prevents sudden failures that can shut down an entire production line.

Where it is used

INDUFORM is typically used in chemical process transport where classical rubber would not withstand aggressive fluids.

The RL variant is the lightweight round profile for lower pressure and higher flexibility. The RR variant is the robust one for higher pressure and more demanding mechanical loads.

The thermoplastic wall's chemical resistance makes the hose the preferred solution for continuous contact with acids, bases or solvents.

INDUFORM is colloquially known as a chemical hose or thermoplastic pressure hose.

Help with material selection

Although this hose isn't ATEX-relevant, these two articles provide useful background on electrical resistance and industrial safety — important if you later combine the hose with electrical equipment or work in mixed environments:

Industries that use it

The INDUFORM series is thermoplastic industrial hoses for chemical resistance and specialised industrial applications.

INDUFORM is used where classical rubber hose cannot withstand the chemical load. Thermoplast provides better resistance to solvents, acids and bases than rubber.

The RL and RR variants have different profile shapes (RL = round/light, RR = round/robust) matching specific pressure loads and bend-radius requirements.

Used across chemical industry, pharma, laboratories and specialised industry segments.

Custom lengths and assemblies

The hose can be delivered cut to desired lengths. The standard roll lengths can be supplemented with shorter pieces or continuous rolls by arrangement.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between INDUFORM-RL and INDUFORM-RR?

RL = round/light profile, flexible and lightweight. RR = round/robust profile, higher pressure resistance and mechanical wear resistance. Choose by application: RL for standard chemical handling, RR for higher loads.

Which chemicals can INDUFORM handle?

Thermoplast has broader chemical resistance than rubber - typically solvents, acids (weak to medium), bases, diluted oxidants. Check the resistance table for the specific chemical or contact us.

Is INDUFORM food-grade?

Certain RL/RR variants have EU 1935/2004 and FDA 21 CFR 177 approval. Check the factsheet for the specific product - not all variants are food-grade.

Can INDUFORM be used at high temperatures?

Thermoplast has lower temperature limit than rubber. Standard INDUFORM variants are intended for -20 to +80 C. At higher temperatures, a rubber or PTFE hose should be selected.

Which couplings are recommended?

For INDUFORM, thermoplast-compatible couplings are recommended - swaged-on or threaded fittings. Standard metal couplings can be used at lower pressure. We advise on compatible accessories.

How long does INDUFORM last under continuous chemical exposure?

Service life depends on chemical aggressiveness, temperature and pressure cycle. In continuous chemical handling, 3-7 years service life is typical. Annual inspection is recommended.

Can the hose be delivered in other lengths?

Yes - the standard roll lengths can be supplemented by arrangement. We have a wide range of couplings for complete assemblies.

Should INDUFORM be inspected regularly?

Yes - all high-pressure pressure hoses should be inspected annually for wear, cracks and coupling integrity. Pressure testing is recommended every 1-2 years depending on application.
