NAFTOIL/BUNA 30 MM
NAFTOIL/BUNA 30 MM is a specialised single-dimension suction and pressure hose in NBR/PVC for transport of water, slurry and oil at moderate pressures. The hose is specifically designed for 30 mm ID installations, a standard dimension in many oil and water pump applications. The NBR element provides oil resistance; the PVC element contributes chemical resistance. The operating range -30 to +65 C with 6 bar working pressure and 0.9 bar vacuum makes the hose suitable for moderate-pressure multi-media applications in automotive, agriculture, chemical industry and general industry.

Why this hose?
The single-dimension approach is NAFTOIL/BUNA 30 mm's specific design choice. Instead of being a broad multi-dimension portfolio, the hose is a specialist for 30 mm ID applications - a standard dimension in many industrial oil and water pump installations. This provides better stock efficiency for distributors and simplifies purchasing management for end users.
The NBR/PVC blend is a compromise solution balancing oil resistance (NBR) with chemical resistance (PVC). Neither material alone would cover both application areas, but the combination provides a multi-media hose suitable for typical workshop and industrial installations where oil and chemicals are mixed.
The rigid PVC spiral in anthracite colour is what makes the hose vacuum-resistant (0.9 bar). The standard PVC wall alone would collapse under negative pressure; the spiral prevents this and maintains the hose's circular cross-section. The anthracite colour visually distinguishes the spiral from blue and white spirals in other hose types.
Where it is used
Car workshops use the hose for oil change installations where 30 mm ID is standard for most mobile oil trolleys and waste oil tanks. The NBR/PVC lining's oil resistance ensures the hose can handle mineral oils, hydraulic oils and diesel without the wall degrading.
Agriculture uses the hose for water vacuum and slurry pumping in irrigation and drainage installations. 0.9 bar vacuum covers typical irrigation pump pressures, and the 50 m standard roll length is sufficient for smaller irrigation installations.
Chemical production facilities use the hose for 30 mm distribution of mixed media - a specific dimension where the hose is optimised. For other dimensions these facilities typically use a broader multi-purpose hose family.
The hose is colloquially known as a naftoil hose, 30 mm oil hose or NBR/PVC suction hose.

Fields without a value (—) are not specified in the manufacturer's factsheet. Overpressure and underpressure values are recommended operating limits; the product can be subjected to higher loads on request. Bend radius is measured along the inside of the hose bend.
Standards and compliance
The hose is qualified per the central European standard for industrial plastic hoses.
- EN ISO 1307:2008. European standard for rubber and thermoplastic hoses for general use.
- EN 12115. European standard for rubber and thermoplastic hoses for liquids and chemicals.
- RoHS Directive (2011/65/EU). Restriction of hazardous substances.
- REACH (EC 1907/2006). Registration of chemical substances.
- ISO 9001:2015. Quality management system at the manufacturer.
- EN 13501-1. European classification of building materials for fire properties. The hose is not specifically fire-classified.
- EU 1935/2004. Food contact regulation. The hose is NOT food-approved.

Industries that use it
NAFTOIL/BUNA 30 MM is used where a specialised 30 mm ID NBR/PVC hose must handle oil and water at moderate pressures - typically in automotive, agriculture and chemical industry.
Automotive industry and car workshops use the hose for oil change and waste oil handling. The NBR element in the lining provides resistance to mineral oils and lubrication oils, making the hose suitable for oil change installations where a specific 30 mm dimension is required.
Agriculture uses the hose for water and slurry pumping in fields. The slightly corrugated outer coating allows the hose to be bent without kinking, and the rigid PVC spiral ensures the hose does not collapse during suction from wells or surface sources.
Chemical industry uses the hose for moderate-pressure distribution of water, acid-base blends and oil-based media. The NBR/PVC blend provides a compromise solution where a broad media portfolio is required without specialised material choice.
Custom lengths and assemblies
The hose can be delivered cut to desired lengths. The standard roll can be supplemented with shorter pieces or multiple rolls by arrangement.

Frequently asked questions
What is NAFTOIL/BUNA 30 mm particularly suitable for?
The hose is a specialised single-dimension suction and pressure hose for transport of water, slurry and oil at moderate pressures. The NBR/PVC lining provides good oil resistance combined with general chemical resistance - a compromise solution for multi-media applications. 6 bar working pressure and 0.9 bar vacuum cover typical moderate-pressure pump applications.
Why only a single dimension (30 mm)?
NAFTOIL/BUNA is a specialised single-SKU hose specifically designed for 30 mm ID applications. This is a standard dimension in many oil and water pump installations, and the hose's specific construction (NBR/PVC + rigid PVC spiral) is optimised for this dimension. For other dimensions we recommend alternative hoses in the NORPLAST family.
Which media can the hose handle?
The factsheet's list covers gas, dust, liquid and solid - a broad media range. The NBR element in the lining provides oil resistance (mineral oils, lubrication oils, diesel), and the PVC element contributes general chemical and acid resistance. For high-proof alcohol or strong solvents we recommend specialised hoses.
What colour is the hose?
Grey inner tube and grey outer coating with anthracite-coloured (dark grey) rigid PVC spiral. The grey colour is an industry convention for oil-resistant multi-purpose hoses - easily visible in industrial installations and distinguishes it from food-grade hoses (typically white or transparent).
Is the hose ATEX-approved?
The hose has NO explicit ATEX declaration on the factsheet. The NBR/PVC lining is typically insulating. For ATEX zones with combustible oil vapours or chemicals, we recommend a conductive or antistatic variant - contact us for ATEX-suitable oil hoses if your installation requires it.
What is the operating temperature?
-30 to +65 C. This covers most liquid and oil pump applications, but is narrower than pure EPDM hoses (-40 to +80) or silicone (above +180). For hot oil applications (above +70 C) we recommend an EPDM or silicone-based hose.
Which couplings are recommended?
For 6 bar working pressure, standard worm-drive clamps or hose-end couplings with integrated grounding tab if combustible oil is handled are recommended. For higher pressure applications or cyclic operation, we recommend metal crimp clamps. We typically fit couplings to the hose by arrangement.
Can the hose be delivered in specific lengths?
Yes - the 50 m standard roll can be cut to length as needed. For specific installations, we fit couplings to the hose by arrangement. Send us a configuration and we'll advise on coupling choice and specific lengths.
