Flame-retardant

CP PVC 466 HT

Highly flexible clamp profile PVC hose, flame-retardant per NF P 92-503 M1 (a higher class than the M2 variants), fabric-reinforced and chemical-resistant. The HT designation marks the wider temperature range — service up to +110 °C continuous and peak +120 °C. Designed for extraction of chemical vapours, vapour return, powder management and welding fume extraction where temperature is higher than CP PVC 465's +80 °C limit.

Why this hose?

CP PVC 466 HT is the HT version of CP PVC 465 — same base construction (clamp profile, fabric reinforcement, PVC wall) but with two improvements: wider temperature range (+110 °C continuous vs +80 °C) and higher fire class (M1 vs M2 per NF P 92-503).

These two improvements are precisely what's needed in chemical process industries and high-energy welding. Most chemical vapours at operating temperatures are below +110 °C, but often come out of tanks hotter than +80 °C. CP PVC 465's limit was therefore often too narrow — CP PVC 466 HT closes that gap.

Where it is used

In the chemical industry the hose typically sits on vapour return lines on hot process tanks, where the medium is a combination of process vapours and hot air. CP PVC 465 would here be underdimensioned; CP PVC 466 HT covers these applications safely.

In the welding industry it's a natural choice for TIG and MIG processes where welding fume temperature can reach +100-110 °C at the hood inlet. The M1 fire class gives extra confidence in environments with flames and sparks nearby.

In everyday talk we call it an "HT clamp profile hose" or "466 HT" — it's the CP PVC range's high-temperature variant.

Standards and compliance

CP PVC 466 HT conforms to:

  • NF P 92-503 M1. The higher fire class — "non-flammable" or "very hard to ignite".
  • REACH and RoHS. EU directives for chemicals and hazardous substances.

Help with material selection

Although this hose isn't ATEX-relevant, these two articles provide useful background on electrical resistance and industrial safety — important if you later combine the hose with electrical equipment or work in mixed environments:

Industries that use it

CP PVC 466 HT is specialised for chemical industry and high-energy welding where medium-high temperature combines with flame retardance requirements:

In the chemical industry the HT variant is often the right choice for vapour return installations where process vapours are +80-110 °C. The M1 fire class is also a plus in chemical environments where fire response is critical.

In welding it's used for processes where welding fume temperature regularly exceeds +80 °C — TIG, MIG and plasma processes. The M1 classification ensures the hose doesn't become the fire source if a spark reaches it.

Custom lengths and assemblies

The hose is delivered on 3 m, 6 m, 15 m or 20 m rolls. We cut to length and fit flange couplings, clamp ring or bayonet as a finished assembly.

For chemical facilities we can fit food-grade gaskets or specific material couplings as needed.

Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between CP PVC 465 and CP PVC 466 HT?

Both have the same base construction (clamp profile, fabric reinforcement, PVC wall). 466 HT has wider temperature range (+110 °C continuous vs 465's +80 °C) and higher fire class (M1 vs M2). Choose 466 HT when the medium is continuously above +80 °C or when the higher fire class is a requirement.

What does the M1 fire class mean?

The highest practical fire class in the NF P 92-503 scale for flexible plastic materials. M0 is reserved for non-organic materials (stone, ceramics). M1 means "very hard to ignite" and is the norm for high-safety installations in public buildings and chemical industry.

Does it tolerate +120 °C continuously?

No — +120 °C is the peak temperature, short-term. Continuous service must be below +110 °C. For continuously higher temperatures (+200 °C or more) choose CP HYP 450 PROTECT or CP ARAMID 461 PROTECT.

Is it ATEX-approved?

No. The PVC wall is insulating without conductive or antistatic properties. For ATEX zones with high temperature choose metal-hose-inox-376.

Does it tolerate vapour return from hot process tanks?

Yes — it's one of the hose's primary applications. Broad temperature range and chemical PVC resistance cover most chemical vapours at operating temperatures up to +110 °C.

Can I get it with specific couplings?

Yes. We cut the hose and fit flange, clamp ring or bayonet as a finished assembly — tell us which coupling system your installation uses.
