Why this hose?
AIRDUC® TPE 363 (MD) uses thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) as material choice — a family of materials combining the properties of rubber (flexibility, abrasion resistance) with thermoplastic properties (melt processing, recyclability). In practice this means a hose more robust than pure PVC but still flexible enough to be routed around obstacles.
The wide temperature range (−40 to +125 °C continuous, peak +150 °C) makes the hose particularly suited for drying applications in industry where the transported air is hot but not extremely hot. Granulate dryers are the classic use case — hot airflow through the hose dries plastic granulates before injection moulding.
Where it is used
In the plastics industry the hose typically sits on granulate dryers — the hose connects the dryer tank to the dosing system on the injection moulding machine. The medium is typically +80-120 °C air.
In the printing industry it's used on UV and IR dryers on offset machines, where hot air or steam is transported through the dryer zone.
In everyday talk we call it a "TPE drying hose" — it's industry standard for hot drying applications.

Industries that use it
AIRDUC® TPE 363 (MD) is used in industrial dryers and general high-temperature drying applications:
In the plastics and polymer industry it's standard on granulate dryers. The wide temperature range covers both the cold plastic pellet side and the hot air supply to the dryer tank.
In printing and paper processing it's used on dryer zones, where hot air or steam is transported between process steps.
Custom lengths and assemblies
The hose is delivered on 10 m and 20 m rolls. We cut to length and fit fittings or couplings as a finished assembly.
For serial deliveries we can establish consistent assembly.

Frequently asked questions
What is TPE?
Thermoplastic elastomer — a family of materials combining the properties of rubber (flexibility, abrasion resistance) with thermoplastic properties (melt processing). TPE is more broadly used in industrial hoses than PVC at temperatures above +80 °C.
Does it tolerate +150 °C continuously?
No, +150 °C is peak. Continuous service is +125 °C. For continuously higher temperatures choose a silicone hose (NORFLEX® SIL 408 up to +180 °C) or metal hose.
Is it ATEX-approved?
No. The TPE wall is insulating without conductive or antistatic properties.
Does it tolerate moisture and condensate?
Yes. TPE has good resistance to moisture and condensate. For continuous service with large amounts of condensate, drainage should be designed in.
Is it food-grade?
No. Standard TPE 363 (MD) is not food-grade certified. For food contact choose AIRDUC® PE 362 FOOD (MD) or a silicone-based hose.
Can I get it with specific couplings?
Yes. We cut the hose and fit hose bands, clamp ring, threaded or bayonet couplings as a finished assembly.
