Used together with

DISCOVERY is a compact and manoeuvrable floor nozzle for continuous vacuuming of floor surfaces in ATEX-classified production environments. At 300 mm wide, it is narrower than PROMETHEUS and therefore ideal for narrower aisles, under machinery and in confined production rooms. The construction combines stainless steel and steel with antistatic rubber that ensures equipotential bonding. The steel connector version connects via quick-fit to double bend floor wands.

Applications

DISCOVERY ATEX is suitable for explosion-classified production environments where a narrow and manoeuvrable floor nozzle is needed. Typical applications:

Narrower aisles and corridors in ATEX-classified zones
Cleaning under and around machinery and process equipment
Confined production rooms and spaces with limited clearance
Food production, chemical industry, woodworking and metal processing

Important: DISCOVERY ATEX is not ATEX-certified as a product. The antistatic rubber contact parts (version A) enable equipotential bonding within a complete ATEX-approved system. It is the installer's and user's responsibility to verify suitability for the specific ATEX-classified environment, zone and dust class.

Connection: Quick-fit steel connector

The DISCOVERY steel connector version has a fixed coupling stud that clicks directly into double bend floor wands with quick-fit coupling. The product can also be connected to Ø38 mm pipe systems using wand adapter CCR38S.

Fixed coupling stud — the wand clicks in and locks. Compatible with double bend floor wands in aluminium, chrome and stainless steel AISI 304 with quick-fit coupling (wands R65081G, R65082G, R65148G, R65067G).

The bristle variant has PP bristle strips along the full width of the nozzle. Available in polypropylene (PPL) and polypropylene with brass wire (PPLBR).

Stainless steel + steel

The body is made from a combination of stainless steel and steel. Adjustable wheels maintain correct working height. Colour: black and zinc-steel. Temperature range: −20°C to +100°C.

Contact material (ATEX version A)

Antistatic rubber (ESD)

PP+brass bristle strips (PPLBR) and black ESD rubber lip enable continuous equipotential bonding in ATEX Zone 21 and Zone 22. Temperature range: −20°C to +100°C.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between DISCOVERY and PROMETHEUS?

DISCOVERY is 300 mm wide and designed for narrower aisles, under machinery and in confined production rooms. PROMETHEUS is 400 mm wide and preferred for open production floors where maximum coverage width is the priority. Both products are available with steel connector and swivel connector and have identical antistatic properties.

Can DISCOVERY be used in both Zone 21 and Zone 22?

The antistatic rubber contact parts (version A) enable equipotential bonding within a complete ATEX-approved system, suitable for use in Zone 21 and Zone 22. It is the user's and installer's responsibility to verify suitability for the specific zone and dust class.

When should I choose steel connector over swivel?

Steel connector is preferred for fixed workstations and stationary systems with shorter hose runs. Swivel connector provides 360° rotation and is best for mobile systems and working over large areas with frequent direction changes.

Which floor wands are compatible with DISCOVERY steel connector?

DISCOVERY steel connector is available in Ø38, Ø40 and Ø50 mm and uses quick-fit coupling. Compatible floor wands: R65081G, R65082G, R65148G and R65067G. For Ø38 mm pipe systems, use wand adapter CCR38S.

Is DISCOVERY available in a Food/Pharma version?

DISCOVERY is only available in the ATEX version. For food and pharma environments with FDA requirements, we offer SPIRIT 300 — the same construction in stainless steel with silicone contact parts complying with FDA 21 CFR 177.2600 and BfR Recommendation XV.

What is the difference between PPL and PPLBR bristles?

PPL is plain polypropylene for standard ATEX floor cleaning. PPLBR is polypropylene with interwoven brass wire that increases conductivity and improves collection of finer dust particles. PPLBR is recommended in environments with very fine dust.
