Why this hose?
AIRDUC® PUR 355 VAC-TRUCK REINFORCED is developed for the transport of abrasive media where a standard polymer hose would be worn out within weeks. Reinforced PUR wall with extra spiral thickness The particularly wear-resistant construction protects against abrasion from gravel, granulates, sand and crushed material.
Polyurethane has the highest mechanical wear resistance among common hose polymers — measured in ISO-standardised Taber tests, PUR typically lasts 5-10 times longer than PVC or rubber under the same abrasion. This means longer service intervals and lower total cost of ownership.
The hose is not ATEX-approved and should not be used for transporting combustible dust or gases. For ATEX zones, EC or AS variants of the same base construction are available.
Abrasion resistance is not the same as ATEX suitability. Polyurethane has high mechanical wear resistance against granulates and particles, but standard PUR hoses are insulating — they do not conduct static electricity. For ATEX zones with combustible dust, choose the AS or EC variant of the same base construction.
In dry pneumatic transport of particulate material, static charges always arise due to friction against the hose wall. If the environment is ATEX-classified, an insulating hose is a safety risk.
Where it is used
The hose is used in collection and transport of abrasive materials — sand, gravel, crushed glass, metal chips and industrial waste. It is typically used on mobile vehicles such as sweeping vehicles and vacuum trucks.
Typical systems are municipal road cleaning, sandblasting installations, construction site waste collection, and industrial vacuum systems in foundries and recycling plants.
In construction industry, foundry industry, recycling and waste wear resistance is a critical parameter — the hose lasts many times longer than PVC or rubber hoses under the same load, reducing downtime and replacement costs.
The formal name is AIRDUC® PUR 355 VAC-TRUCK REINFORCED. In daily use it is referred to as "the reinforced vacuum-truck hose" — it is chosen when the standard VAC-TRUCK cannot withstand the specific combination of pressure, vacuum and abrasion in the duty.

Where standard sweeper constructions have a 0.9-1.5 mm wall, the REINFORCED variant is built with a 2.5 mm wall — nearly twice as thick. That delivers two concrete benefits: a markedly higher working-pressure tolerance (up to roughly 2.08 bar at Ø 85 mm versus typically below 1 bar in standard variants), and larger reserve against collapse under high vacuum loads. It is used specifically where the vacuum truck operates with mixed media under heavy duty — for example on suction excavators in contractor work.
Dimensions and ordering
AIRDUC® PUR 355 VAC-TRUCK REINFORCED is supplied in 4 standard sizes from inner Ø 85 mm to 152 mm. Each size has its own article number at the manufacturer. Standard roll length is typically 10 m, and the hose can be cut to length.

Note: Fields without a value (—) are not specified in the manufacturer's factsheet. Overpressure and underpressure are recommended operating limits; the product can be subjected to higher loads on request. Bend radius is measured along the inside of the hose. Standards and compliance
The hose is tested and certified to the following standards:
- REACH (EC 1907/2006). EU regulation on registration, evaluation, authorisation and restriction of chemicals. The hose's materials are REACH-compliant; manufacturer's declaration is available for download.
- RoHS (Directive 2011/65/EU). Restriction of Hazardous Substances — restriction on the use of certain hazardous substances in electronic products. The hose's components comply with RoHS limit values.

Industries that use it
The hose is used across a wide range of industries — below is an overview of the most typical industries where AIRDUC® PUR 355 VAC-TRUCK REINFORCED is used:
In the construction industry, the REINFORCED variant sits on suction excavators operating in the most demanding conditions — mixed soil, stones, gravel and construction debris that both wear and impose pulsating loads on the hose. The 2.5 mm wall resists mechanical wear while the construction tolerates higher working pressures than the standard variants.
In parks and grounds maintenance, it appears on the heavier machines collecting leaves, sand and small stones in a single pass. In municipal and automotive, it features on vacuum trucks and specialised vehicles where wear on ordinary PUR hoses has proved excessive.
What unites these applications is that the REINFORCED variant is chosen after measuring service life on a standard variant and finding it insufficient — it is rarely the first choice for a new installation, but it is the right answer when service data point that way.
Custom lengths and assemblies
AIRDUC® PUR 355 VAC-TRUCK REINFORCED can be cut to length and assembled with couplings, cuffs and threads to fit your installation precisely. We produce complete hose assemblies with crimped ferrules, clamp collars or threaded connections, depending on what the process requires.
We advise on coupling types and assembly solutions suited to your specific application, so the installation is reliable and easy to maintain.

Frequently asked questions
How long does an abrasive hose last?
Service life depends on medium aggressiveness, flow velocity and hose dimension. PUR hoses typically last 5-10 times longer than PVC under the same load. Service intervals are typically 6-18 months under continuous operation.
Can abrasive hoses be used in ATEX zones?
Standard abrasive PUR hoses are NOT ATEX-approved — they are insulating. For ATEX zones, choose the AS or EC variant of the same base construction.
What's the difference between HD and XHD?
HD (heavy-duty) has a heavier wall than standard MD (medium-duty). XHD (extra heavy-duty) has an even thicker wall and reinforced spiral, for the most abrasive media such as glass beads and metal chips.
Can the hose be kinked by sharp bends?
If the bend radius is less than specified in the factsheet, yes. PUR hoses are very flexible but have a minimum bend radius of about 5 × inner Ø. Forced bending below this radius permanently damages the spiral.
Can the hose be cut to length?
Yes. Custom cutting is a standard service from Particulair. We cut the hose to the desired length, install couplings if required, and ship it ready to use.
