NIPLAFLEX

NIPLAFLEX is a heavy-duty multi-purpose hose with NBR/PU/PVC lining and NBR/PVC outer cover. PN 25 bar working pressure and 75 bar burst pressure make the hose well-suited to high-pressure compressed air, acid and base distribution and heavy-duty industrial applications. Weather, UV and ozone resistance ensure long-term outdoor stability, and the wide media portfolio (air, water, oil, acids, bases) makes the hose a standard solution where a single hose must handle multiple different media.

Why this hose?

The NBR/PU/PVC blend is the key to NIPLAFLEX's broad media resistance. Each of the three polymers contributes specific properties: NBR for oil and fuel, PU for wear resistance, PVC for acid/base resistance. The combination produces a hybrid material that handles more media than any of the components alone. It is a modern compound construction specific to multi-purpose applications.

Weather, UV, ozone and ageing resistance are four independent properties each. The NBR/PVC outer cover is formulated with additives that counteract each of these degradation mechanisms. This is a significant difference from standard NR or SBR hoses which typically have good 1-2 but not all 4 resistance properties. NIPLAFLEX can be installed outdoors permanently without losing integrity.

Pressure rating PN 25 / BP 75 (3.0x safety factor) is industry heavy-duty level. It covers high-pressure compressed air, hydraulic connections and high-pressure chemical distribution. Combined with the multi-media resistance, it is a particularly strong pressure-media combination that distinguishes the hose from most competitor solutions.

Where it is used

Chemical production facilities use the hose for distribution of mixed media - acids, bases and solvents can all be handled by the same hose type. This reduces complexity in facility drawings and simplifies maintenance. The wide pressure margin (75 bar burst vs 25 bar operating) provides good safety against transient pressure peaks.

Construction and compressor applications use the hose as standard high-pressure compressed air hose. Central compressors deliver 8-15 bar operating pressure but can have transient peaks up to 20 bar; the hose handles this with 25 bar PN margin. UV resistance allows the hose to lie exposed at the construction site for the entire project duration.

Agricultural applications use the hose for combined water, irrigation and chemical applications. The long standard roll (100 m on small dimensions) is practical for large fields and spread irrigation installations. The multi-media resistance eliminates the need for separate hoses for each individual application.

The hose is colloquially known as a multi-purpose hose, NBR/PU/PVC hose or heavy-duty compressed air hose.

Fields without a value (—) are not specified in the manufacturer's factsheet. Overpressure and underpressure values are recommended operating limits; the product can be subjected to higher loads on request. Bend radius is measured along the inside of the hose bend.

Standards and compliance

The hose is qualified per the central European standard for industrial multi-purpose hoses. EN ISO 1307:2008 is the primary reference.

  • EN ISO 1307:2008. European standard for rubber and thermoplastic hoses for general use. Defines dimensions, pressure tolerance and marking.
  • EN 12115. European standard for rubber and thermoplastic hoses for liquids and chemicals.
  • EN ISO 8033:2016. Test of adhesion between lining, wall material and reinforcement. Critical for high-pressure hose integrity.
  • RoHS Directive (2011/65/EU). Restriction of hazardous substances. Manufacturer declaration on file.
  • REACH (EC 1907/2006). Registration of chemical substances. Manufacturer declaration on request.
  • ISO 9001:2015. Quality management system at the manufacturer.
  • ISO 6803:2017. Hydraulic hose test under hydraulic impulse. Reference for cyclic pressure load.

Help with material selection

Although this hose isn't ATEX-relevant, these two articles provide useful background on electrical resistance and industrial safety — important if you later combine the hose with electrical equipment or work in mixed environments:

Industries that use it

NIPLAFLEX is used where a multi-purpose hose must be able to handle multiple different media at heavy-duty pressures - typically in chemical industry, agriculture, construction and high-pressure compressed air applications.

Chemical industry and laboratories use the hose for distribution of different process media - acids, bases, oil and water can all pass through the same hose without separate spec assessments. This simplifies facility designs and reduces the need for media-specific hoses at each station. The NBR/PU/PVC lining's chemical resistance is broader than pure EPDM or pure PVC.

The construction industry uses the hose for high-pressure compressed air distribution at construction sites. PN 25 bar covers larger compressors and pneumatic equipment (hammers, sanders, sandblasting). UV and weather resistance makes the hose suitable for outdoor installations where it lies on the construction site for several days.

Agriculture and municipal services use the hose for water, chemical and fuel distribution. The broad media portfolio is a major advantage: the same hose can be used for irrigation systems (water), manure spreaders (chemical exposure) and fuel filling on tractors. This simplifies purchasing and spare parts management.

Custom lengths and assemblies

The hose can be delivered cut to desired lengths. The standard roll can be supplemented with shorter pieces or multiple rolls by arrangement.

Frequently asked questions

What is NIPLAFLEX particularly suitable for?

The hose is a heavy-duty multi-purpose hose with 25 bar working pressure and 75 bar burst pressure. The NBR/PU/PVC lining provides broader chemical resistance than pure PVC or pure EPDM, making the hose suitable for oil, fuel, chemicals and acidic/alkaline media - a wide portfolio in a single product.

What is the NBR/PU/PVC blend?

NBR (nitrile-butadiene rubber) provides resistance to oil and fuel. PU (polyurethane) contributes wear resistance. PVC provides chemical resistance to acids and bases. The combination in one layer gives broader media resistance than any of the materials alone. The NBR/PVC outer cover reinforces this with weather and UV resistance.

How many dimensions are in the range?

7 dimensions from ID 6 mm to 25 mm. Small dimensions (6-13 mm) are typically delivered on 100 m rolls, and larger ones (19-25 mm) on 50 m. All have the same pressure rating (25 bar PN, 75 bar burst). This is a specialised range for line connections and supply pipes.

Is the hose UV and weather-resistant?

Yes - the factsheet notes ozone-resistant, UV resistant, weather-resistant and age-resistant. The NBR/PVC outer cover is specifically formulated to withstand prolonged outdoor exposure. This makes the hose well-suited to fixed outdoor installations where traditional rubber hoses would become brittle over 1-2 years.

Which couplings are recommended?

For 25 bar working pressure, metal crimp clamps, hydraulic couplings or specialised pneumatic quick couplings are recommended. Standard worm-drive clamps work at lower pressures but provide lower leak safety in cyclic operation. We typically fit couplings to the hose by arrangement.

Is the hose ATEX-approved?

The hose has NO explicit ATEX declaration on the factsheet. The NBR/PU/PVC lining is insulating without specific antistatic additive. For ATEX zones with combustible fuel or oil vapours, we recommend a conductive or antistatic variant.

What is the operating temperature?

-20 to +70 C. This is narrower than pure EPDM hoses (-30 to +80) but broader than pure PVC (-15 to +60). For frost or hot-temperature applications outside this range we recommend specialised hoses - contact us for advice.

Can the hose be delivered in shorter lengths?

Yes - we cut the hose to length as needed from 100 m and 50 m standard rolls. Specific coupling configurations can also be fitted by arrangement. For large installations we advise on sizing and coupling choice.
