QUADRIFLEX
QUADRIFLEX is a lightweight suction hose in orange soft PVC with oval rigid PVC reinforcement spiral. The oval spiral provides better collapse resistance under suction than standard round-spiral constructions, allowing a 0.9 bar vacuum rating - a significant improvement over light PVC vacuum hoses which typically only reach 0.6 bar. The hose is optimised for process water and slurry vacuum applications where light weight and high vacuum resistance are combined - typically in agriculture, construction sites and industrial vacuum pump installations.

Why this hose?
The oval spiral is the key to QUADRIFLEX's vacuum advantage. In a round spiral, collapse resistance is equal in all directions; in an oval spiral, it is higher in one direction, and that direction can be placed to absorb the largest deformation pressure. The result is that the same material weight provides markedly higher vacuum rating - 0.9 bar instead of the typical 0.6 bar.
Soft PVC in the inner tube is a deliberate choice over rigid PVC. Soft PVC is more flexible and tolerates bending better during suction, where a stiff wall would crack. It is a compound blend that balances flexibility (bending) with stiffness (collapse resistance) - combined with the spiral, it is a solid vacuum construction.
The orange colour is an industry convention for higher-vacuum hoses - easy to distinguish from COSMO's green at a glance, and visible during work. It is a safety and practicality-oriented design choice that reduces the risk of an operator confusing 0.6 bar and 0.9 bar hoses on a vacuum installation rack.
Where it is used
Industrial cleaning facilities use the hose as standard high-pressure vacuum for tank cleaning. Tank cleaning pumps can reach up to 0.9 bar vacuum, and the hose is specifically rated for this pressure class. The lightweight PVC construction allows a single operator to handle large dimensions.
Agricultural vacuum pump installations use the hose to suck water from deep wells and surface sources faster than COSMO would allow. 0.9 bar vacuum typically means 30-40% faster filling time for irrigation tanks - a significant efficiency advantage on large farms.
Municipal sewage trucks and drainage maintenance vehicles use the hose for high-pressure vacuum applications. The oval spiral construction resists the cyclic vacuum loads that arise during start/stop pump cycles.
The hose is colloquially known as a high-pressure vacuum hose, oval-spiral hose or orange suction hose.

Fields without a value (—) are not specified in the manufacturer's factsheet. Overpressure and underpressure values are recommended operating limits; the product can be subjected to higher loads on request. Bend radius is measured along the inside of the hose bend.
Standards and compliance
The hose is qualified per the central European standard for industrial plastic hoses.
- EN ISO 1307:2008. European standard for rubber and thermoplastic hoses for general use.
- EN 12115. European standard for rubber and thermoplastic hoses for liquids and chemicals.
- RoHS Directive (2011/65/EU). Restriction of hazardous substances.

Industries that use it
QUADRIFLEX is used where a light, flexible suction hose must deliver high vacuum resistance - typically in industrial cleaning, agriculture and construction sites where 0.9 bar vacuum is required.
Industrial cleaning facilities use the hose for tank and container emptying where high vacuum pump pressure is required. 0.9 bar negative pressure is typically the maximum practical vacuum in agriculture and construction (above this is not achieved without specialised vacuum installations), and the hose's oval-spiral construction is specifically designed for this pressure class.
Agricultural installations use the hose for water vacuum and slurry handling where 0.6 bar (COSMO level) is insufficient. Higher vacuum means faster filling of irrigation tanks from wells, and the hose's oval spiral prevents collapse under full vacuum. It is a specialised product category between standard COSMO and heavy-duty industrial vacuum hoses.
Construction sites and municipal services use the hose for excavation dewatering, sewer maintenance and surface water handling. The orange colour is functionally visible at workplaces, and 0.9 bar vacuum rating covers most mobile vacuum pump trucks used in municipal services.
Custom lengths and assemblies
The hose can be delivered cut to desired lengths. The standard roll can be supplemented with shorter pieces or multiple rolls by arrangement.

Frequently asked questions
What is special about the oval spiral construction?
QUADRIFLEX has an oval rigid PVC spiral instead of a standard round spiral. The oval shape provides better collapse resistance under vacuum (0.9 bar) at the same material weight, because the cross-sectional moment is higher in one direction. It is a specialised construction for lightweight suction hoses where maximum vacuum resistance per weight is important.
What is the difference between QUADRIFLEX and COSMO?
COSMO has 0.6 bar vacuum and round spiral; QUADRIFLEX has 0.9 bar vacuum and oval spiral. QUADRIFLEX is the more robust solution for higher vacuum applications. COSMO is lighter and cheaper for low-pressure applications. Choose QUADRIFLEX where 0.6 bar is too low; choose COSMO where 0.6 is plenty.
How many dimensions are in the range?
8 dimensions from ID 51 mm to 152 mm. Standard roll lengths vary: 50 m on small, 30 m on medium and 20 m on large dimensions. All have the same vacuum rating (0.9 bar). The 152 mm dimension is also available in shorter standard lengths (4 m, 5 m).
Is the hose suitable for solids handling?
Yes - the factsheet specifies Solid as one of the media. The orange soft PVC lining is smooth and provides low friction against particles, and the oval spiral prevents collapse during suction of heavy media. For abrasive media (sand, granulate) the hose is acceptable for light applications, but for heavy-duty abrasive pumping we recommend specialised wear-resistant hoses.
What colour is the hose?
Orange outer and inner coating with anthracite-coloured (dark grey) spiral. The orange colour is an industry convention for higher-vacuum hoses - easily visible and distinguished from COSMO's green colour. The anthracite spiral is visible through the slightly transparent wall, simplifying installation.
What is the operating temperature?
-25 to +60 C. Soft PVC lining provides slightly broader cold range than standard PVC (only -15 C), but the upper limit is still 60 C. For higher temperatures or frost exposure, we recommend a TPE or EPDM-based hose.
Which couplings are recommended?
For 0.9 bar vacuum, metal crimp clamps or hose-end couplings with integrated pressure cooling are recommended. Standard worm-drive clamps work but may slip with frequent vacuum cycling. We typically fit couplings to the hose by arrangement.
Can the hose be used outdoors?
Yes, short-term - PVC has moderate UV resistance and can be installed outdoors for several months without visible degradation. For long-term outdoor installations (over 1 year) we recommend an EPDM or PUR-based hose. The orange colour is stable in moderate UV exposure and maintains visibility.
