HEPA H14 and ESD safety as standard

The 2D-10 (4W) HEPA ORDLOC is Tiger-Vac's dry vacuum for production environments handling combustible plastic and metal powder in ordinary, unclassified locations. With a HEPA H14 filter (99.995 % at 0.3 µm, tested in accordance with EN 1822 and IEST-RP-CC001) and a fully conductive accessory system, the unit is documented for the safe collection of combustible dust in ordinary locations — meaning all production areas that are not ATEX-zoned.

Every Tiger-Vac HEPA vacuum system undergoes an individual aerosol leak test before dispatch from the factory. This is not merely a product promise — it is documentation that accompanies the unit and confirms that the filter housing has been verified as leak-free, and that the stated filter efficiency has been measured on the specific unit the customer receives.

Stainless steel, conductive bags and filter blockage indicator

The tank is manufactured in stainless steel SAE 430, providing corrosion resistance and easy cleaning. The conductive disposable bag system (19 L) ensures that collected powder can be transferred for disposal without direct operator contact. A conductive poly liner (40 L) is included as a secondary containment barrier. The filter blockage indicator on the motor unit provides a visible signal when the HEPA filter is approaching capacity, preventing unplanned downtime.

The 1.2 kW bypass motor delivers 194 m³/h at 2504 mmH₂O vacuum — sufficient for high-volume collection directly at the 3D printer. For environments with longer motor service life requirements, a brushless motor is available as an option; this configuration is always supplied with two HEPA H14 filters. The unit runs on standard 220–240 V single phase and requires no special electrical installation.

Frequently asked questions

ORDLOC stands for “Ordinary Locations” — production areas that are not ATEX-zoned because there is no likely or persistent risk of explosive atmosphere under normal operating conditions. In 3D printing environments handling plastic powder, this is typically the case when work takes place in well-ventilated areas with ongoing risk assessment. The ORDLOC certification documents that the vacuum has been designed with ignition-protected components — earthed, conductive surfaces and ESD-safe accessories — so that electrostatic discharge cannot ignite collected powder inside the tank. If you have ATEX-classified zones, an ATEX Ex-certified model must be selected instead.
Yes. The unit is designed for dry collection of combustible dust in general, including plastic powders (PA12, PA11, TPU, PEEK and similar materials) and reactive metal powders that do not require wet inertisation. For extremely reactive metal powders — such as titanium or aluminium in ultrafine fractions — wet inertisation may be required, in which case the 2D-10 (IT-40L) CFE HEPA ORDLOC model with water immersion is the appropriate choice. Contact Particulair for an assessment of your specific powder type and volume.
The standard model comes with a 2-stage heavy duty bypass motor suited for intermittent use in typical production environments. The brushless motor (optional) offers a longer expected service life, fewer moving parts and lower heat generation during extended operating intervals. One important detail: when the brushless motor option is selected, the unit is always supplied with two HEPA H14 filters instead of one. Contact Particulair for pricing and lead time on this configuration.
The conductive disposable bag system is the primary tool for hygienic disposal. When the bag is full, it is sealed before removal — collected powder remains encapsulated and can be disposed of without direct operator contact. The filter blockage indicator signals when the HEPA filter should be inspected or replaced. It is recommended to use personal protective equipment (FFP2/FFP3 mask and gloves) during filter servicing, and to carry out the service outside the production zone where possible.
The 3D tool kit for the 60 mm suction inlet includes a conductive suction hose assembly (38 mm × 3 m, STATPATH), a conical nozzle with curved tip in conductive rubber, a round brush assembly (ESD-safe plastic, for 38 mm hose) and a crevice tool (aluminium, 38 mm, black rubber, conductive and oil resistant). Conductive disposable bags (3 pcs., 19 L) and a conductive poly liner (40 L) are also included as standard. Optional additional 3D tools are available — contact Particulair for the exact configuration for your 3D printer.

Is the 2D-10 (4W) HEPA ORDLOC the right model for you?

We can help clarify whether the ORDLOC model matches your powder type, zone classification and operating pattern — or whether an ATEX-certified variant is the correct solution.
