About EXP1-10 (25L) DT RE HEPA MFS (SS-FOD CART)

EXP1-10 (25L) DT RE HEPA MFS is a purpose-built explosion-proof vacuum designed for cleanrooms and pharmaceutical environments where safety from static discharge and foreign object contamination are critical. The FOD cart (Foreign Object Debris) is a stainless steel basket mounted on the frame that physically prevents loose tools, parts, and other items from falling into the recovery tank and contaminating the product being cleaned.

The vacuum is ATEX II 2GD-certified under LCIE 03 ATEX 6297 and can be used in both gas and dust zones. Externally, it is rated for Zone 1 (gas, group IIA) and Zone 21 (dust), also covering Zone 2 and Zone 22. Internally, it meets EN 17348 DT, suitable for combustible dust. The detachable tank in SS 304 can be removed in seconds without tools and emptied safely and cleanly.

The main filter is star-shaped with an integrated cage that provides optimal airflow and maximum filter area without adding bulk to the machine. The integrated manual filter shaker (MFS) allows light maintenance by gently rocking a shaft on the outside of the filter housing, typically once per hour or as needed. With a 1 kW TEFC motor (230 V single-phase), the vacuum delivers 224 m³/h airflow and up to 1,550 mmH₂O vacuum — sufficient for both heavy and light particulates.

All components are stainless steel (SS 304, <10 ohms resistivity) or static dissipative material (filters, shelves), ensuring maximum electrostatic safety. Complete static dissipative tool kits and conductive polyliner bags for safe dust disposal are included as standard.

FOD stands for Foreign Object Debris. An FOD cart is a stainless steel basket mounted on the vacuum frame that acts as a physical barrier around the recovery tank. If a tool or part accidentally falls from the workbench or shelf, it hits the FOD basket frame instead of landing inside the tank and contaminating the product being cleaned. In pharmaceutical and high-tech manufacturing, even a single thread or metal chip can ruin an entire batch. The FOD basket prevents this catastrophic loss.

A star-shaped filter with cage is designed like a star with multiple arms radiating from a central tube. The cage (a cylindrical support structure) keeps the filter in shape and prevents it from collapsing under vacuum. Benefits include: (1) maximum filter area for a given airflow without making the machine larger, (2) better airflow distribution around the entire filter, (3) easier manual shaking because the arm strikes multiple filter sections simultaneously.

Manual filter shaker means the operator must handle an arm or shaft on the outside of the filter housing and shake it manually a few times, typically once per hour or as needed. Automatic shaker runs electronically and opens/closes valves without operator action. MFS gives more control and is preferred in ATEX areas to avoid electrical components. MFS is also more affordable and requires less maintenance.

With ATEX II 2GD certification, the machine is externally rated for Zone 1 and Zone 2 (gas, group IIA) and Zone 21 and Zone 22 (dust). Internally, it meets EN 17348 DT, which covers Zone 20 for combustible dust. This means the vacuum can safely operate in environments where explosive gas may occur and where flammable dust or liquid vapour can be present.
