About the EXP1-10 (4W) RE HEPA (MRAC)
The EXP1-10 (4W) RE HEPA (MRAC) is the only model in the Tiger-Vac EXP1 range that ships with an integrated activated carbon filter as standard. MRAC stands for Middle Ring with Activated Carbon — a filtration stage positioned between the cloth filter and the HEPA filter that effectively adsorbs toxic fumes and gases during collection.
Certified ATEX II 2GD under LCIE 03 ATEX 6297, the vacuum is approved for both gas and dust zones. Externally it covers Zone 1 and Zone 2 (gas group IIA) as well as Zone 21 and Zone 22 (dust). Internally it complies with EN 17348 DT/LC — suitable for combustible dust and flammable liquids (Zone 20 internal).
The unit handles both wet and dry collection with a dry capacity of 22.7 litres and a liquid capacity of 28.5 litres. Its four-stage filter train — pre-filter (static dissipative), cloth filter (static dissipative), activated carbon filter (MRAC) and HEPA H14 — ensures effective capture of particles, vapours and gases alike.
Powered by a 1 kW TEFC motor (230 V, single phase), the vacuum delivers 224 m³/h airflow and up to 1,550 mmH₂O vacuum pressure. Mounted on four ESD-safe castors, it moves easily between workstations, while the 15-metre power cord provides generous reach.

MRAC stands for Middle Ring with Activated Carbon. It is a filtration stage filled with activated carbon, placed between the cloth filter and the HEPA filter. It adsorbs toxic fumes and gases that particle filters alone cannot capture. The EXP1-10 (4W) RE HEPA (MRAC) is the only model in the EXP1 range that ships with this carbon filter as standard.
With its ATEX II 2GD certification, the unit is externally approved for Zone 1 and Zone 2 (gas, group IIA) as well as Zone 21 and Zone 22 (dust). Internally it complies with EN 17348 DT/LC, covering Zone 20 for combustible dust and flammable liquids.

Gas group IIA covers gases at propane level — that is, gases with a lower explosion energy. IIB covers more energetic gases such as ethylene. The EXP1-10 MRAC is certified for IIA, which is sufficient for most pharmaceutical and industrial applications.
Filtration takes place in four stages. First a static dissipative pre-filter captures coarse particles. Next a static dissipative cloth filter. The third stage is the MRAC carbon filter, which adsorbs fumes and gases. The fourth and final stage is the HEPA H14 filter with 99.995% efficiency at 0.3 µm.
EN 17348 is the harmonised standard for vacuum cleaners intended for use in explosive atmospheres. DT stands for Combustible Dust and LC for Flammable Liquids. Together they confirm that the machine can safely collect both types of material.
Yes. The castors are ESD safe, and both the pre-filter and the cloth filter are static dissipative. This minimises the risk of static charge build-up in ATEX areas.
