What is the Tiger-Vac CR-1300D?

The CR-1300D is a high-performance cleanroom vacuum designed specifically for the pharmaceutical, semiconductor, and microelectronics industries. It is built entirely from AISI 316 stainless steel with an electropolished finish that removes surface contamination and facilitates decontamination. The 38-litre recovery tank — including the white nylon wheels — is fully autoclavable up to 121 °C.

The filtration system uses a disposable collection bag and a polyester cloth filter as primary stages, followed by two downstream ULPA U15 filters (EN 1822) positioned at both the working air and cooling air exhausts — the approach required when a bypass motor is used in a cleanroom environment. In a bypass motor, cooling air travels a separate path that bypasses the main filtration system and exits the machine directly. If this exhaust path is unfiltered, it risks contaminating the cleanroom with the particles disturbed during vacuuming. Tiger-Vac addresses this with two separate ULPA filters, one for each airstream.

ULPA filtration efficiency reaches 99.999 % at 0.12 micron and 99.9995 % at 0.18 micron (MPPS), tested and documented in accordance with IEST-RP-CC001. The vacuum is compatible with ISO Class 4 cleanrooms as defined in ISO 14644-1 and supports compliance with GMP requirements. Every unit is aerosol leak tested before leaving the factory.

The filter blockage indicator alerts the operator when the collection bag is approaching capacity, allowing the bag to be changed before airflow is noticeably reduced. In high-frequency operating environments, this prevents unplanned interruptions and maintains consistent suction performance. The standard model ships with white autoclavable nylon wheels; static conductive grey wheels (not autoclavable) are available as an option.

Important limitation: The CR-1300D is intended for dry recovery only. It must not be used for liquids, slurry, or wet material, as the suction motor is not protected against moisture ingress.

Choosing the right accessories kit

The basic kit (323306WD) covers routine dry and wet cleaning with a clear urethane hose, stainless steel extension wands, and standard floor and crevice tools. Kit #2 (ESD-safe) is designed for environments with electrostatic requirements: conductive hose, conductive plastic tools, and conductive nylon brushes throughout. Kit #3 (autoclavable) is the right choice when accessories need to be sterilised alongside the tank — the hose is EPDM, the wands are stainless steel, and the nozzles are food-grade silicone.

Questions and answers

The CR-1300D uses a bypass motor. In a bypass motor, cooling air travels a separate internal path that bypasses the main filtration system, so it never passes through the primary ULPA filter. If this cooling air exhaust is unfiltered, it can release particles disturbed during vacuuming back into the cleanroom. Tiger-Vac solves this by fitting a ULPA U15 filter at both the working air exhaust and the cooling air exhaust — both airstreams leave the machine at cleanroom quality.
Tiger-Vac performs an aerosol leak test on the fully assembled unit before it leaves the factory. The test verifies not just that the filters meet specification — it also confirms that gaskets, joints, and all components in the airpath are tight. A filter with perfect efficiency values is worthless if there is a bypass leak around the filter gasket. The test documentation can be requested and supports the validation process in GMP-regulated facilities.
AISI 316 is the most corrosion-resistant of the common stainless steel grades — its molybdenum content makes it resistant to chlorides and many chemicals used in pharmaceutical manufacturing. Electropolishing is an electrochemical process that removes the outermost microscopic layers of the metal, leaving a smooth, mirror-like surface free of micro-crevices. In a pharmaceutical context, there are no sites where particles or microorganisms can lodge, and the surface can be cleaned effectively with aggressive disinfectants. Electropolished AISI 316 is the standard requirement for GMP Grade A and B environments.
Yes. The tank separates from the motor head without tools. The white nylon wheels are likewise autoclavable up to 121 °C. The motor head and filters must not be autoclaved — but they do not need to be, as they are on the clean side of the filtration path. Accessories such as hose and tools can be autoclaved separately using Kit #3 (autoclavable accessories, part no. 323604).
Both are built in electropolished AISI 316 and are compatible with ISO Class 4. The CR-1300D uses a bypass motor and achieves cleanroom compatibility through dual ULPA U15 filters (one at working air, one at cooling air). The CR-1200D uses a thru-flow motor with a single downstream ULPA U15 filter and an upstream HEPA H14 filter for motor protection. The CR-1300D is the larger model with a 38-litre tank (compared to approximately 10 litres in the CR-1200D) and weighs 28 kg against 16 kg. Choose the CR-1300D when higher recovery volume is decisive, or when your process calls for bypass motor technology.
The filter blockage indicator activates when resistance from the collection bag causes airflow to drop noticeably — a sign the bag is approaching its 19 L capacity. In environments handling potent compounds (OEB 3), the collection bag should be handled with gloves and disposed of in accordance with the facility's contaminated waste procedure. The collection bag (part no. 218063-5, pack of 5) is synthetic.
