The CWR-10 (PHARMA) is a robust two-stage bypass vacuum in electropolished AISI 304/316 stainless steel, engineered for demanding wet and dry recovery tasks in pharmaceutical manufacturing environments. Its ULPA U15 filter delivers a filtration efficiency of 99.9995% at MPPS, and every unit is individually aerosol leak tested before leaving the factory — ensuring cleanroom compatibility at ISO Class 4.

The autoclavable sieve basket with stainless steel mesh filter makes the machine particularly well suited for the safe recovery of broken ampules, glass fragments and liquid spillages in a single operation. The recovery system consists of an electropolished stainless steel tank with a capacity of 28.5 L for liquids and 15.1 L for dry material. The machine is ESD safe (< 10 ohm) and EMI/RFI shielded, making it suitable for use near sensitive electronic process equipment.

Mounted on a 4-wheel dolly for easy maneuverability, the vacuum can be moved quickly between workstations. A complete accessories kit in pharmaceutical-grade materials is included at delivery.

Filter configuration and filtration

The filtration system operates in two stages. In the first stage, larger particles and liquid are intercepted by the sieve basket assembly with its stainless steel mesh filter and the mesh filter with clamp. In the second stage, the ULPA U15 filter cleans the exhaust air to a filtration efficiency of 99.9995% at the most penetrating particle size (MPPS) of 0.18 µm, and 99.999% at 0.12 µm. The filter is tested in accordance with IEST-RP-CC001 and classified U15 by the MPPS method as per EN 1822.

Every ULPA vacuum system from Tiger-Vac is individually aerosol leak tested before delivery — a test that verifies the filter, the filter housing and all seals and joints in the airpath. The test result accompanies the machine at delivery.

Please note: The CWR-10 (PHARMA) is not ATEX certified and must not be used in explosive atmospheres. ESD safety and EMI/RFI shielding do not substitute for ATEX certification. For recovery of potent or cytotoxic compounds (OEB 4–5), we recommend the CR-1000 (CV) or CWR-10 EX (CV) with sealed containment canister.

The CWR-10 (PHARMA) is equipped with an autoclavable sieve basket with stainless steel mesh filter, designed specifically to capture and collect fragments from broken glass ampules, vials and glass shards — along with any liquid spilled in the same event. The sieve basket can be autoclaved at up to 121 °C and is manufactured in electropolished AISI 304 for easy cleaning. The combined wet/dry recovery capability means the entire spillage can be handled in a single operation without changing equipment.
An aerosol leak test verifies that there are no leaks in the assembled filtration system — in the filter itself, the filter housing, or the seals between them. Tiger-Vac individually aerosol tests every CWR-10 (PHARMA) unit at the factory before delivery. This means you receive a machine verified leak-tight at system level, not just with a filter approved at component level. The test documentation accompanies each unit.
HEPA H14 is classified with an efficiency of at least 99.995% at the most penetrating particle size according to EN 1822. ULPA U15 sets the bar considerably higher: at least 99.9995% at MPPS of 0.18 µm and 99.999% at 0.12 µm. In practical terms, that is approximately 100 times better particle retention than H14. In ISO Class 4 cleanrooms and when handling potent compounds, ULPA U15 is the preferred standard, as even very small particle counts in exhaust air can be critical.
The CWR-10 (PHARMA) has ULPA U15 filtration and meets ISO Class 4, but is not OEB 4–5 classified with a containment canister. For the recovery of spillages involving cytotoxic or highly potent compounds, we recommend the CR-1000 (CV) or CWR-10 EX (CV) instead, both equipped with a sealed, single-use containment canister system. The machine is ESD safe and EMI/RFI shielded, but these properties do not substitute for ATEX certification. The CWR-10 (PHARMA) is documented as compatible with ISO Class 4 (equivalent to the former US Federal Standard 209E Class 10). Since ISO Class 4 is the second most stringent cleanroom classification for particle concentration, the machine is also compatible with ISO Classes 5–8. Compatibility is based on the filter class, the materials (electropolished AISI 304/316) and the construction's suitability for cleaning and disinfection in accordance with GMP principles.
