What is the Delfin SEP.DC-011?

The SEP.DC-011 is the motorless version of Delfin's PHARMA 40 DC platform. It combines the cyclone separator, H14 absolute filter, crimp bag collection system and magnehelic indicator in a single compact unit — identical to the PHARMA 40.40 DC — but without the integrated side channel blower. The vacuum source is instead provided by an external CV unit located in a technical room. It is the natural choice for installations where the vacuum supply is already centralised, or where motor noise needs to be kept out of the production area.

Filter pressure is monitored via the included magnehelic indicator, and the capacity sensor (24 VDC) signals when the collection container is full. The crimp bag's BIBO disposal ensures the operator never contacts the collected material. Optional accessories including WIP (Wash in Place), Photohelic indicator and ATEX Cat. 2GD follow the same programme as the PHARMA 40.40 DC.

No motor: The SEP.DC-011 is a passive unit with no integrated vacuum motor. It requires an external CV vacuum unit to generate the vacuum source. The CV unit is typically located in a separate technical room while the SEP.DC-011 is positioned directly at the process machines. The filtration chain in detail

The dust-laden process air enters the cyclone, where centrifugal force separates up to 98 % of the powder from the airstream and collects it in the crimp bag. The remaining air fraction then passes through the H14 absolute filter with a surface area of 20,500 cm² and a filtration efficiency of 99.995 % measured by the MPPS method. The magnehelic indicator provides continuous visual monitoring of the filter condition.

Filter replacement is carried out using the BIBO system (Bag-in Bag-out): the used filter is encapsulated in a sterile single-use bag before it is removed from the filter housing, ensuring the operator never contacts the contaminated material. When the capacity sensor signals a full container, the collection bag is crimped and sealed before emptying — again without operator contact with the collected powder.

Questions and answers

The two units are identical in filtration configuration — cyclone, H14 absolute filter, crimp bag and magnehelic as standard — but differ on one key point: the PHARMA 40.40 DC has an integrated side channel blower (4 kW) and is a complete, self-contained vacuum designed for continuous 24/7 duty. The SEP.DC-011 is a passive unit without an integrated motor and requires an external CV vacuum unit. The SEP.DC-011 is rated OEB 4; the PHARMA 40.40 DC is specified for OEB 4–5.
The SEP.DC-011 is the right choice when the vacuum supply is already centralised — for example when a CV vacuum unit already exists in a technical room that can supply the unit. It is also the preferred choice when blower noise needs to be removed from the production area, or when a lighter and more compact unit is required (80 kg versus 160 kg for the PHARMA 40.40 DC). The PHARMA 40.40 DC is the right choice when a complete, standalone unit for continuous 24/7 duty is the priority.
The SEP.DC-011 is compatible with the CV series vacuum units. Selection of the right CV model depends on suction distance, pipe diameter and the number of simultaneous extraction points. We are happy to advise on sizing — contact us for a specific assessment of your installation.
The standard version is not ATEX certified. ATEX Cat. 2GD (Zone 21 external) can be added as an option. Contact us to assess whether ATEX is relevant for your installation.
The magnehelic indicator is a differential pressure gauge that provides visual monitoring of the H14 filter condition. As the filter fills, back pressure increases and the indicator shows that filter replacement is required. It is standard equipment on the SEP.DC-011. As an option, the Photohelic indicator can replace the magnehelic and send an electrical signal (24 V) to the facility's BMS system.
