ATEX • II 1/2 GD • HEPA H14 + ACTIVATED CARBON
CD-595 EX HEPA VOC
ATEX-certified stainless-steel fume and VOC extractor with three-stage filtration: spark trap, HEPA H14 and 12 activated-carbon cartridges — for the safe capture of fumes, vapours and organic gases in explosive atmospheres (Zone 1/21).
- Three-stage filtration: spark trap + HEPA H14 + activated carbon
- Adsorbs VOCs, vapours and odour — not just particulate
- ATEX II 1/2 GD — Zone 1 and Zone 21
- Type 304 stainless steel, IP65
About the CD-595 EX HEPA VOC
The CD-595 EX HEPA VOC is a transportable, ATEX-certified stainless-steel extractor built for environments that combine explosion risk with the need to remove organic vapours. It is more than a vacuum: air passes through three filtration stages — a metal-mesh spark trap, a V-bank HEPA H14 filter that retains particles down to 0.3 micron, and twelve activated-carbon cartridges that adsorb fumes, VOCs and odour. This carbon stage sets it apart from the rest of the CD range and makes it relevant wherever process fumes and solvent vapours must be captured inside a classified zone.
The unit is certified to the ATEX Directive (LCIE 03 ATEX 6295 X, II 1/2 GD) and IECEx (LCI 10.0040X) for use in gas Zone 1 and dust Zone 21, with an explosion-proof TEFC motor rated at either 2.2 kW (400V) or 1.5 kW (230V). The Type 304 stainless-steel cabinet carries an IP65 rating, four conductive castors (two with brakes) and a low centre of gravity for stability in transit. A differential pressure gauge is included, so the operator can monitor filter loading at a glance.

Questions and answers
The twelve activated-carbon cartridges adsorb organic vapours, VOCs, fumes and odour — the gaseous compounds that a HEPA filter does not capture. The HEPA H14 filter retains particles down to 0.3 micron, while the carbon stage deals with whatever has evaporated. It is the combination that makes the unit suitable where both particulate and solvent vapours are present in the air.
The marking is II 1/2 GD. This means the unit may be used externally in gas Zone 1 and 2 and dust Zone 21 and 22, while its interior (the tank) is rated for the stricter Zone 0 (gas) and Zone 20 (dust). Certification is documented by LCIE 03 ATEX 6295 X (Directive 2014/34/EU, Notified Body 0081) and IECEx LCI 10.0040X.
They share the same motor platform and the same ATEX certification, but are built for different jobs. The CD-600 EX is a dust collector with a self-cleaning cartridge filter and a 10-litre collection drawer. The CD-595 EX HEPA VOC is a fume and VOC extractor: it has a spark trap, HEPA H14 and twelve carbon cartridges, and is optimised to remove vapours and gases rather than to collect large volumes of bulk dust.
No. The CD-595 EX HEPA VOC has no compressed-air self-cleaning. The filter stages — spark trap, HEPA H14 and carbon cartridges — are easily accessible and replaced as required. The included differential pressure gauge shows when a filter is approaching saturation.
H14 is a filter class under EN 1822, used in pharmaceutical and clean environments. Tiger-Vac rates the filter at 99.99% efficiency at 0.3 micron. The filter is aerosol leak-tested before the unit leaves the factory and is included as standard.
TEFC (Totally Enclosed Fan Cooled) means the motor is fully enclosed and cooled by its own fan, which prevents dust ingress. II 1/2 GD is the ATEX marking: Group II (above-ground industry), category 1 internally and 2 externally, for both gas (G) and dust (D).
Yes — a Group E version is available, with a motor and switch intended for the safe recovery of conductive metal dust. The unit is generally approved for the safe collection of combustible and conductive dust. Contact us and we will specify the right configuration for your dust and zone classification.
