What are the Depureco AF 40, 55 and 75?

The Depureco AF series comprises three stationary industrial dust collectors — AF 40, AF 55 and AF 75 — designed for permanent installation with localised discharge. Unlike the DF FIX, the AF series has no integrated collection bin; the dust is routed through a discharge valve to an external collection system. That makes the series ideal for continuous operation at high dust loading, where an internal bin would need emptying too often.

The three variants share the same chassis, height (3,175 mm) and filter capacity: 340,000 cm² cartridge filters in polyester class M with automatic reverse-jet cleaning (SP) as standard. The difference lies in motor performance. The AF 40 delivers 2,200 m³/h at 340 mmH₂O, the AF 55 delivers 2,700 m³/h at 517 mmH₂O, and the AF 75 delivers 3,900 m³/h at 575 mmH₂O. The Ø200 mm suction inlet is tangential with an integrated cyclone for pre-filtration, which offloads the cartridges and extends their service life.

A complete control panel is included as standard and comprises a Y/Δ star/delta starter, on/off switch, SP cleaning system control, discharge system control and 5 m cable. The discharge valve (Ø250 mm) is an option and is chosen based on the external collection system the customer connects.

Localised discharge: The DF AF is designed for applications where the dust is not collected internally but is sent directly onward in the process or to an external drum container. The customer selects the discharge solution — from a simple counterbalanced flap to a double electropneumatic butterfly valve that isolates the collection without breaking vacuum.

Accessories

The extensive accessory programme makes the DF AF flexible in combination with suction hoses in different diameters and allows rapid replacement of the cartridge filter when required.

  • P12300/70, /100, /120, /150, /180, /200 — flanged connections for flexible suction hose, all six diameters (Ø70, 100, 120, 150, 180 and 200 mm)
  • P09697, P10095, P12358, P12359, P12360, P12503 — metal hose clamps for flexible suction hoses, all six diameters (Ø70, 100, 120, 150, 180 and 200 mm)
  • P12478 — spare cartridge filter (1 pcs) for the SP cleaning system
  • P12478/A — cartridge pre-filter (protects the cartridges from coarse particles between the cyclone and the cartridge filter)

Construction options

In addition to the standard control panel features, a range of construction options tailors the DF AF to specific discharge and noise attenuation requirements.

  • P13328 — sound-attenuating fan cover — reduces motor noise
  • P12390 / P12391 — counterbalanced flap — Ø150 or Ø250 mm — passive discharge
  • P12392 / P12393 — manual butterfly valve — Ø150 or Ø250 mm — manual closure of the discharge
  • P12394 / P12395 — double electropneumatic butterfly valve — Ø150 or Ø250 mm — isolates the collection without breaking vacuum
  • P12736 — rotary valve — Ø250 mm — continuous, metered discharge

Questions & answers

The DF AF has no integrated collection bin — the dust is routed through a discharge valve (Ø250 mm) to an external collection system, for example a drum container or a continuous discharge into the next process step. This makes it well suited to high dust loading where a 175 L bin would need emptying too often. In addition, the AF series has a tangential Ø200 mm inlet with integrated cyclone for pre-filtration, which offloads the cartridges and extends their service life.
The AF series is designed for continuous operation at high dust loading. Cartridge filters with reverse-jet cleaning (the SP system) can operate 24/7 without stopping for manual filter shaking. The 340,000 cm² of cartridge surface is larger than even the HEPA option on the DF FIX, and delivers a very low air-to-cloth ratio per m², keeping the pressure drop low throughout the operating cycle.
Localised discharge means the machine does not collect dust in an internal bin but sends it straight out through a discharge valve in the base. The customer connects the discharge valve to an external collection system — for example a 200 L drum container, a rotary valve that meters the dust to the next process step, or a double electropneumatic butterfly valve that isolates the collection without breaking vacuum. The discharge valve is not included as standard and is chosen from the options list.
The integrated cyclone is a mechanical pre-filtration stage where the incoming airflow is fed tangentially into a cylindrical chamber, using centrifugal force to drop the heavier dust particles out before the air reaches the cartridges. This significantly offloads the cartridges — they no longer have to catch the large particles — and extends the interval between cartridge changes. Cyclone pre-filtration is particularly useful with coarse and medium-fine process dusts such as grinding dust, metal swarf and wood chips.
The DF AF is supplied with a complete control panel as standard, which is a difference from the mobile DF models. The panel includes a Y/Δ star/delta starter (reducing inrush current on the large motors), on/off switch, SP cleaning system control, external discharge system control and a 5 m connection cable. The panel is mounted to the machine frame and is ready for connection on delivery.
The choice depends on the required airflow and the static vacuum in your installation. The AF 40 (4 kW) delivers 2,200 m³/h at 340 mmH₂O and is well suited to smaller central installations or single workstations with short duct runs. The AF 55 (5.5 kW) delivers 2,700 m³/h at 517 mmH₂O and is the natural choice for medium-sized installations. The AF 75 (7.5 kW) delivers 3,900 m³/h at 575 mmH₂O — choose it when the duct network is long, several workstations need to be connected, or the filter loading is very high. We are happy to help calculate the pressure drop in your duct network before you decide.
