Why this hose?

AIRDUC® PUR 357 VAC-TRUCK is the top choice in the AIRDUC VAC-TRUCK series for demanding applications. The 357 construction has thicker wall material than the 355 variants, giving significantly higher pressure and compression resistance. It handles working pressures up to 3 bar and vacuum up to 1 bar -- substantially above what standard vacuum truck hoses can deliver.

The extreme abrasion resistance comes from an optimised PUR formulation that withstands wear from granulates, gravel and high-velocity particle flows. The heavy steel spiral provides form stability under the combined load of suction, pressure and movement.

The hose is built for situations where other VAC-TRUCK variants do not hold up -- typically full-load operation, large excavation systems and longer duty cycles without interruption. The size range is broader than the 355 ORANGE (100-250 mm) but still focused on standard vacuum truck sizes.

357 vs 355 VAC-TRUCK

357 has a thicker wall and heavier spiral than the 355 variants -- it handles higher pressures and more demanding media flows. 355 ORANGE is smarter on construction sites due to orange visibility. 355 REINFORCED is a middle variant. Choose 357 if you have high pressure or very abrasive media; 355 ORANGE if you need visibility.

Where it is used

The hose is used where a standard vacuum truck hose does not hold up or where the installation requires higher operating pressure. Typically in granulate, gravel and powder transport at high pressure -- usually transport over longer distances or against backflow resistance.

In excavation with suction excavators in clay, sand and stone soil. In ceramic and glass industry for transport of raw material powders at high pressure where a thin wall quickly wears out.

In energy industry for coal, biomass and slag transport at power plants -- highly abrasive media at high velocities. In mining for transport of minerals and abrasives.

The formal name is AIRDUC® PUR 357 VAC-TRUCK. In daily use most people refer to it as "the 357 hose" or "the heavy vacuum-truck hose" — it is the lead product of the 357 series, which sits above the 355 level in wall thickness and pressure capability.

Material selection

The hose is best in class for the combination of abrasion resistance and pressure/vacuum capacity. For ATEX applications with abrasive media, see AIRDUC PUR 356 EC (XHD) or the AS variants. For lighter loads and standard vacuum transport, an MD or HD variant is sufficient.

Dimensions and ordering

AIRDUC® PUR 357 VAC-TRUCK is supplied in 6 standard sizes from inner Ø 100 mm to 250 mm. Each size has its own article number at the manufacturer. Standard length is typically 10 m or 15 m, and the hose can be cut to length.

Note: Fields without a value (—) are not specified in the manufacturer's data sheet. Overpressure and underpressure are recommended operating limits; products can be subjected to higher loads on request. The bend radius is measured along the inside of the hose bend. Standards and compliance

The hose is tested and documented in compliance with the following standards:

  • Extreme abrasion-resistant PUR construction (357 series). The hose is developed for the most demanding vacuum truck and granulate transport applications. The wall thickness is greater than the 355 variants, significantly extending operating life.
  • High pressure and compression resistance. The 357 construction handles working pressures up to 3.015 bar (depending on dimension) -- substantially above standard VAC-TRUCK variants.
  • High vacuum capacity. Up to 1 bar vacuum, the theoretical maximum value at atmospheric pressure. The hose does not collapse under full vacuum load.
  • REACH (EC 1907/2006). EU regulation on the registration, evaluation, authorisation and restriction of chemicals. The hose materials comply with REACH; a manufacturer declaration is available for download.
  • RoHS (Directive 2011/65/EU). Restriction of Hazardous Substances -- restriction on the use of certain hazardous substances in products. The hose components comply with the RoHS limit values.

The hose is not ATEX approved, not food-grade and not flame-retardant. For ATEX applications with abrasive media see AIRDUC PUR 356 EC (XHD).

Industries that use it

The hose is used where abrasion and high operating pressures are central challenges.

In the Ceramic industry for powders and high-pressure transfer. In the Construction industry for suction excavators in digging and waste handling. In the Glass industry for granulate and abrasive transport.

In Silo and conveying technology for high-pressure transfer of granulates and powders. In Mechanical engineering for pump installations with abrasive media.

The hose is also used in the Energy industry for coal, biomass and slag transport, and in Mining industry for mineral and abrasive transport.

Custom lengths and assemblies

AIRDUC® PUR 357 VAC-TRUCK can be cut to length and assembled with cuffs, ferrules and threads to fit your installation precisely. We supply finished hose assemblies with crimped ferrules, clamping cuffs or threaded connections depending on what the process requires.

We advise on which combination of hose and assembly gives the longest service life in the specific application. It can have a real impact on how often the hose needs to be replaced and how stable the system runs over time.

Frequently asked questions

How abrasion-resistant is the hose in practice?

Polyurethane has the highest abrasion resistance among hose materials in its class. In pneumatic conveying of granulates and powders, PUR hoses typically last 3-10 times longer than rubber or PVC hoses -- depending on velocity and particle size.

Which conveying velocity can the hose handle?

It depends on particle size, density and the hose dimension. In general, higher velocity increases wear on the hose interior and bends. We advise on optimal velocity for specific media.

Can the hose handle UV light and outdoor use?

PUR has good UV resistance compared with other thermoplastics and tolerates outdoor use. Under very intense and continuous UV exposure, routine inspection is recommended -- the material is resistant but can over time become discoloured or lose surface flexibility.

Can I have the hose cut to length?

Yes. AIRDUC® PUR 357 VAC-TRUCK is cut to your length and we fit couplings, cuffs and threads so the installation matches.

What is the lead time?

Standard variants are typically in stock with a few days' lead time. Special variants depend on the manufacturer's production -- we give you a precise date when you contact us.
