Why this hose?

POLYFLEX is a versatile food-grade hose for the many small applications in food production and industry where water or compressed air must be moved. EU 10/2011 in categories A, B AND C broadly cover — from dry foods to aqueous and even alcoholic media.

GMP EU 2023/2006 + LFGB compliance provides additional documentation of manufacturing quality. The transparent construction is an advantage for visual quality control of flow.

Where it is used

In food production it's used for water supply hoses and compressed air for pneumatics. The price/performance ratio makes it attractive for broad installation.

In beverage production it often sits as connection between fixed pipework and equipment — especially on water-based applications.

In everyday talk we call it a "food PVC" or "food compressed air hose" — it's the broad food-grade allrounder.

Fields without a value (—) are not specified in the manufacturer's factsheet. Overpressure and underpressure values are recommended operating limits; the product can be subjected to higher loads on request. Bend radius is measured along the inside of the hose bend.

Standards and compliance

POLYFLEX conforms to:

  • EU 10/2011 cat. A, B, C. Materials in contact with food.
  • LFGB. German Food and Feed Code.
  • (GMP) EU 2023/2006. Good Manufacturing Practice.
  • EN ISO 1307:2008. Hose dimensions.
  • REACH and RoHS.

Help with material selection

Although this hose isn't ATEX-relevant, these two articles provide useful background on electrical resistance and industrial safety — important if you later combine the hose with electrical equipment or work in mixed environments:

Industries that use it

POLYFLEX is broadly used in food production and light industry:

In food industry it's standard choice for compressed air and water supply. The broad food-grade compliance (cat A·B·C + LFGB) covers most media types.

In beverage installations it's used particularly as connection between pipework and equipment.

Custom lengths and assemblies

The hose is delivered on 50 m rolls. We cut to length and fit fittings or quick-connects.

For serial use in food production we can establish consistent assembly.

Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between POLYFLEX and POLYFORM?

POLYFLEX is a flexible compressed air hose — can handle positive pressure from compressed air systems. POLYFORM is a pure water hose for pressureless applications. Choose POLYFLEX when compressed air is involved; choose POLYFORM for pressureless water transport.

What is LFGB?

Lebensmittel-, Bedarfsgegenstände- und Futtermittelgesetzbuch — the German Food and Feed Code. LFGB compliance is often required in the German market and broadly accepted across the EU.

Does it tolerate drinking water?

Food-grade compliance covers food contact. For formal drinking water approval in specific countries (KTW, WRAS) you should cross-check with us.

What's the working pressure?

Specific values are in the dimension table. The hose is optimised for standard compressed air systems (typically 6-10 bar) and low-pressure water distribution.

Is it ATEX-approved?

No. The PVC wall is insulating.

Can I get it with hygiene couplings?

Yes. We fit SMS, DIN 11851 or other hygiene systems as a finished assembly.
