SUPER AIR

SUPER AIR is a lightweight PVC compressed air and water hose with PN 20 bar working pressure and 60 bar burst pressure. The hose has polyester textile reinforcement and is weather, UV, ozone and age-resistant - a combination making it suitable for outdoor installations at construction sites, agriculture and industry. The beige outer coating is an industry convention for compressed air hoses and easily visible in work areas. 7 dimensions from ID 6 mm to 25 mm with 50 m standard roll length. Typically used for compressed air distribution from compressors, pneumatic tools, water distribution and general industrial/construction site applications.

Why this hose?

The PVC construction is the key to SUPER AIR's price-weight advantage. PVC is one of the cheapest industrial plastics, and the lightweight construction means the hose is easy to handle alone even in the 25 mm dimension. For 20 bar compressed air and the 60 C range, PVC is fully sufficient and provides better value than EPDM or PUR-based alternatives.

Polyester textile reinforcement is what makes the hose rated to 20 bar PN. Standard PVC hoses without textile reinforcement typically have burst pressures of 10-25 bar (1.5-2x safety factor), but SUPER AIR's polyester reinforcement provides 60 bar burst with 3x margin. This is the specific construction detail that distinguishes the hose from home-use hoses.

UV, ozone and ageing resistance are three independent properties. Standard PVC becomes brittle under prolonged UV exposure (typically 1-2 years outdoors), but SUPER AIR's PVC formulation has additives that counteract these degradation mechanisms. This is a significant difference in outdoor installation service life.

Where it is used

Construction sites use the hose as standard compressed air hose from mobile compressors to pneumatic tools. The lightweight PVC construction allows the hose to be moved between stations multiple times daily without fatigue, and the 50 m standard roll typically covers an entire construction site installation length.

Agriculture uses the hose for combined water vacuum and compressed air distribution in fields. The UV-resistant beige outer coating prevents the hose from becoming brittle over the season, and polyester reinforcement ensures the hose does not stretch under cyclic pump operation.

Industrial workshops use the hose as distribution between central compressor and pneumatic tools or high-pressure cleaning. PN 20 bar is plenty for standard pneumatic equipment, and the 50 m standard roll is practical for workshop installations where distribution length varies.

The hose is colloquially known as a compressed air hose, compressor hose or PVC compressed air hose.

Fields without a value (—) are not specified in the manufacturer's factsheet. Overpressure and underpressure values are recommended operating limits; the product can be subjected to higher loads on request. Bend radius is measured along the inside of the hose bend.

Standards and compliance

The hose is qualified per the central European standard for industrial rubber and plastic hoses.

  • EN ISO 1307:2008. European standard for rubber and thermoplastic hoses for general use.
  • EN 12115. European standard for rubber and thermoplastic hoses for liquids and chemicals.
  • RoHS Directive (2011/65/EU). Restriction of hazardous substances.
  • REACH (EC 1907/2006). Registration of chemical substances.
  • ISO 9001:2015. Quality management system at the manufacturer.
  • EN 13501-1. European classification of building materials for fire properties. PVC has generally self-extinguishing properties.
  • EU 1935/2004. Food contact regulation. The hose is NOT food-approved.

Help with material selection

Although this hose isn't ATEX-relevant, these two articles provide useful background on electrical resistance and industrial safety — important if you later combine the hose with electrical equipment or work in mixed environments:

Industries that use it

SUPER AIR is used where a lightweight UV-resistant compressed air and water hose must handle higher pressures - typically in construction, agriculture, industry and pneumatic tools.

Construction sites are the main market. Compressed air for pneumatic tools (hammers, sanders, sandblasting guns) and water distribution for concrete mixing are both daily applications. The PVC construction's lightness allows the hose to be handled alone, and UV/weather resistance allows the hose to lie exposed on the construction site for the entire project duration.

Agriculture uses the hose for combined compressed air and water distribution on tractors and self-propelled machinery. PN 20 bar covers most agricultural pump systems, and polyester reinforcement prevents the hose from stretching or crack-forming under cyclic pump operation.

Mechanical engineering and compressor applications use the hose for compressed air distribution from central compressors to work stations. 7 dimensions (6-25 mm) cover from smaller tool connections up to main supply pipes in smaller installations. Polyester reinforcement is what gives the higher PN 20 bar pressure rating.

Custom lengths and assemblies

The hose can be delivered cut to desired lengths. The standard roll can be supplemented with shorter pieces or multiple rolls by arrangement.

Frequently asked questions

What is SUPER AIR particularly suitable for?

SUPER AIR is a lightweight PVC compressed air hose specifically designed for water and compressed air applications in industry, construction and agriculture. PN 20 bar working pressure and 60 bar burst pressure (3x safety factor) make the hose suitable for high-pressure compressed air from compressors and high-pressure water applications. It is weather and UV-resistant.

What materials is the hose built of?

PVC inner tube and PVC outer coating with polyester textile reinforcement. The beige outer coating is an industry convention for compressed air hoses - easily visible on construction sites and in industrial installations. The PVC wall is light, economical and provides the specific pressure rating that makes the hose suitable for high-pressure compressed air applications.

How many dimensions are in the range?

7 dimensions: ID 6, 8, 10, 13, 16, 19 and 25 mm. All have the same pressure rating (20 bar PN, 60 bar burst) and 50 m standard roll length. This covers from smaller supply pipes to pneumatic tools (6-13 mm) up to main supply pipes from compressors (19-25 mm).

What is the operating temperature?

-20 to +60 C. This is the PVC wall's limit and covers normal industrial compressed air temperatures. For hot-water or hot-air applications (above +65 C) we recommend an EPDM-based hose like ARIACORD/YELLOW or MP 20.

Is the hose UV and weather-resistant?

Yes - the factsheet notes ozone-resistant, UV resistant, weather-resistant and age-resistant. The beige outer coating retains colour stability under UV exposure, and the polyester textile reinforcement prevents the hose from stretching or crack-forming under weather exposure. This makes the hose suitable for outdoor installations at construction sites and agriculture.

Which couplings are recommended?

For 20 bar working pressure, metal crimp clamps or standard hose-end couplings are recommended. For pneumatic tool connection (6-13 mm) specialised pneumatic quick couplings are industry standard. Standard worm-drive clamps work at lower pressures but may slip in high-pressure cyclic operation. We typically fit couplings to the hose by arrangement.

What is the difference between SUPER AIR and other PVC compressed air hoses?

SUPER AIR's PN 20 bar is higher than standard PVC compressed air hoses which typically have 10-15 bar PN. This makes the hose suitable for professional high-pressure compressor work where pressure peaks up to 20 bar may occur. The polyester textile reinforcement is what gives the higher pressure rating - standard PVC hoses without textile reinforcement have lower burst resistance.

Is the hose ATEX-approved?

The hose has NO explicit ATEX declaration on the factsheet. The PVC wall is typically insulating without specific antistatic additive. For ATEX zones with combustible gas or dust we recommend a conductive or antistatic variant - contact us for ATEX-suitable compressed air hoses if your installation requires it.
