Liquid hoses
TRICOTECH
TRICOTECH is a smooth torsion-free PVC water hose specifically designed for irrigation, construction site water distribution and as a garden hose. The hose's textile reinforcement is woven in a pattern that eliminates torsion under pressure load - a practical property in daily handling. PN 10 bar working pressure and 25 bar burst pressure (2.5x safety factor). 7 dimensions from ID 12.5 mm to 50 mm with 50 m standard roll length. The yellow outer coating is easily visible in fields and gardens. Typically used in horticulture, agriculture, construction sites, aquaculture and as a garden water hose.

Why this hose?
The torsion-free textile weave is the central design feature in TRICOTECH. Ordinary spiral-reinforced hoses tend to twist under pressure cycling - an annoying phenomenon in daily handling where the hose is moved regularly. TRICOTECH's weave prevents this and provides more obedient handling.
The PVC construction is the key to TRICOTECH's price-weight advantage. PVC is one of the cheapest industrial plastics, and the lightweight construction means the hose is easy to handle alone. For water distribution at 10 bar and the 60 C range, PVC is fully sufficient.
The yellow colour is functional - easily visible in fields, in gardens and on construction sites. Modern garden hoses in Europe are typically yellow or green, and TRICOTECH's yellow colour fits this convention. PVC can be coloured stably in this shade, ensuring the hose does not discolour under moderate UV exposure.
Where it is used
Garden and home applications use the hose for water distribution between water taps and garden equipment. The standard 12.5 mm version fits typical garden gear and is compatible with Gardena couplings and standard 3/4-inch garden fittings.
Irrigation installations in fields and greenhouses use the hose as main supply pipes from pump to irrigation stations. The 19-32 mm dimensions are typical for modern irrigation systems, and the 50 m roll typically covers an entire installation length.
Construction sites use the hose for water distribution at the construction site - concrete mixing, dust suppression and cleaning are daily applications. The lightweight PVC construction allows the hose to be moved alone between stations, and the torsion-free weave prevents the hose from twisting when the pump is activated.
The hose is colloquially known as a garden hose, irrigation hose or yellow water hose.

Fields without a value (—) are not specified in the manufacturer's factsheet. Overpressure and underpressure values are recommended operating limits; the product can be subjected to higher loads on request. Bend radius is measured along the inside of the hose bend.
Standards and compliance
The hose is qualified per the central European standard for industrial plastic hoses.
- EN ISO 1307:2008. European standard for rubber and thermoplastic hoses for general use.
- EN 12115. European standard for rubber and thermoplastic hoses for liquids and chemicals.
- RoHS Directive (2011/65/EU). Restriction of hazardous substances.
- REACH (EC 1907/2006). Registration of chemical substances.
- ISO 9001:2015. Quality management system at the manufacturer.
- EN 13501-1. European classification of building materials for fire properties. PVC has generally self-extinguishing properties.
- KIWA / DVGW. Drinking water approvals. The hose is NOT drinking water approved.

Industries that use it
TRICOTECH is used where a light, torsion-free water hose must handle irrigation, garden applications and general water distribution - typically in horticulture, agriculture, construction and as a garden water hose.
Horticulture and agriculture are the main markets. Irrigation in fields and greenhouses requires a hose that can be easily moved between positions and tolerates PN 10 bar pump pressure. The torsion-free textile weave is particularly valuable in daily handling where traditional spiral-reinforced hoses would twist under pump activation.
Construction sites use the hose for water supply for concrete mixing, dust suppression and general cleaning. The PVC construction's lightness allows the hose to be easily dragged on the construction site, and the yellow outer coating is easily visible as a marker.
Aquaculture and municipal green areas use the hose for water distribution in fish tanks and park installations. PN 10 bar is plenty for most low-pressure pump systems in these applications, and the 50 m standard roll typically covers an entire installation length.
Custom lengths and assemblies
The hose can be delivered cut to desired lengths. The standard roll can be supplemented with shorter pieces or multiple rolls by arrangement.

Frequently asked questions
What makes TRICOTECH 'torsion-free'?
The hose's textile reinforcement is specifically woven in a pattern that eliminates torsion (twisting) under pressure load. Ordinary spiral-reinforced hoses tend to twist under pressure cycling, which can be annoying in handling and may result in uneven water flow. TRICOTECH's textile reinforcement prevents this and provides more obedient handling, particularly important for garden and irrigation applications where the hose is moved regularly.
What is TRICOTECH particularly suitable for?
The hose is a light smooth water hose specifically designed for irrigation, construction site water distribution and as a garden hose. The yellow outer coating is easily visible in fields and gardens, and the PVC construction's lightness makes it easy to move between positions. PN 10 bar working pressure covers most garden equipment and irrigation pump systems.
How many dimensions are in the range?
7 dimensions: ID 12.5, 15, 19, 25, 32, 40 and 50 mm. All have the same pressure rating (10 bar PN, 25 bar burst). Standard roll length is 50 m for most; the 50 mm version is 25 m. This covers from smaller garden hoses up to main supply pipes in irrigation installations.
What colour is the hose?
Black inner tube and yellow outer coating. The yellow colour is functionally valuable - easily visible in fields and gardens, and clearly signals that the hose is a water hose (in contrast to other colours that signal specific industrial applications). Modern garden hoses in Europe are typically yellow or green.
What is the operating temperature?
-10 to +60 C. This is the PVC wall's limit and covers normal outdoor temperatures in most climates. The hose is NOT suitable for frost-exposed installations (storing outdoors in winter risks brittle wall at freezing), and for hot-water applications (above +65 C) we recommend an EPDM or TPE-based hose.
Is the hose UV-resistant?
The hose is an ordinary PVC construction. The yellow pigmented outer coating has moderate UV resistance - typically 2-3 years of outdoor exposure without visible discolouration or brittleness. For permanent outdoor installations (above 3 years) we recommend an EPDM-based hose like ARIACORD/YELLOW or PYTHON.
Which couplings are recommended?
For 10 bar working pressure, standard worm-drive clamps or hose-end couplings are recommended. For garden and irrigation applications, Gardena couplings or standard 3/4-inch garden fittings are industry standard. For higher pressure applications we recommend metal crimp clamps. We typically fit couplings to the hose by arrangement.
Is the hose suitable for drinking water?
The hose is an ordinary PVC hose without specific EU 1935/2004 or drinking water approval. For drinking water applications we recommend a specifically food-approved hose. TRICOTECH is best suited to non-food-contact water applications such as irrigation, garden water and municipal park installations.
